Exploring DAPIM™ on THRIVE
APHSA’s DAPIM™ process (Define, Assess, Plan, Implement, and Monitor) is a highly effective change management and continuous improvement framework that brings together diverse sets of human services stakeholders to envision new ways of working and achieving community impact. Using DAPIM™ to Drive Continuous Improvement is an eLearning course on THRIVE, the APHSA Learning Management System (LMS), and it introduces this process while describing how to facilitate productive conversations throughout its cycle. This course focuses on areas such as the development of a desired future state and monitoring progress.

New Blog Post on The Catalyst
The newest post on our blog, The Catalyst, is titled, Improving Economic Mobility for Older Workers Through SNAP E&T. Authored by Andrew Schramm, APHSA's Senior Project Associate of Employment and Economic Well-Being, it focuses on why SNAP E&T is uniquely positioned to increase positive outcomes for eligible workers aged 60 and over, as well as how states can align with partners to better reach and support this group.

APHSA is Partnering with Harvard and Johns Hopkins to Understand SNAP Waiver De-Implementation
APHSA's Policy Team is partnering with Harvard and Johns Hopkins Universities on an NIH grant to study the impacts of the de-implementation of SNAP COVID-19 waivers on hunger across the country. The partnership will include a nationwide survey of SNAP agencies and interviews at the state, county, and frontline worker levels. To learn more:

Today, Senior Policy Associate Chloe Green is speaking on a plenary panel at Share Our Strength's 2024 Public Benefits Access in Schools Convening. The topic is "Leading the Charge: Transforming Policy and Education Systems for Public Benefits Access through Schools," and Chloe will be discussing opportunities for human services agencies, schools, and community partners to work together to promote access to SNAP, Summer Electronic Benefits Transfer (Summer EBT), and other public programs that enhance community well-being. APHSA Kicks Off Summer EBT Community of Practice
APHSA, in partnership with Share Our Strength, has launched the National Summer EBT Community of Practice (S-EBT CoP). It offers a dedicated space for state SNAP, state Child Nutrition, Territorial, and Tribal agency staff leading S-EBT efforts to better understand how to implement a successful S-EBT program. The S-EBT CoP creates the opportunity for participants to have constructive peer exchange and learn about best practices from national subject matter experts. To get involved:

APHSA Completes Work on SNAP E&T NPG
APHSA has just completed work on a three-year United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) Food and Nutrition Service (FNS) SNAP E&T National Partnership Grant (NPG). APHSA partnered with the Association of Community College Trustees (ACCT) and the National Community Action Partnership (NCAP) to support community college and community action agency cohorts to become SNAP E&T providers and expand their capacity to deliver services. In addition, APHSA convened a grantee community to encourage peer sharing and collaboration on projects. APHSA Attends Youth Villages Achieving Success Convening
Members of APHSA's Practice and Policy Teams recently attended the Youth Villages Achieving Success Convening in Miami, Florida. The conference was established to discuss the discrepancies between transition-aged youth who are experiencing homelessness and what states are doing to help combat the high rates of homelessness. Through a series of breakout sessions and keynote talks, we gathered insight from states that are bringing light to the issues of homelessness after aging out of care and curbing the statistics for transition-aged youth. April 11, 1:00 to 2:30 PM EST: Hosted by the Administration for Children and Families (ACF), Less Poverty, More Prosperity is a webinar that will tackle the challenges of the benefits cliff—the gap between what someone will earn in a new position or job and the value of benefits lost due to increased income. Attendees will get an opportunity to learn possible federal actions available to them, join a discussion on methods to distance the cliff effect from pathways to work, and engage in cross-state learning on ways to diminish the effect of this phenomenon.
