A Message from the
Chief Executive Officer
Dear ABC Recovery Center Community,
I hope this letter finds you all well and in good spirits. As we move forward into the second quarter of the year, I am thrilled to share with you some exciting news regarding our expansion project.
We have recently received the first round of corrections back from the City of Indio Plan Check for our expansion plans. This is a significant milestone in our journey towards enhancing our facilities to better serve our community. The feedback we have received thus far has been constructive and reaffirms our commitment to ensuring that our expansion meets the highest standards of safety and quality.
With this important step behind us, we are now eagerly anticipating the issuance of our Builders permit within the next 30 days. This permit will enable us to proceed with the construction phase of the project, bringing us one step closer to realizing our vision of a more comprehensive and accessible recovery center for those in need.
I want to take this opportunity to express my gratitude to everyone who has been involved in this project thus far. From our dedicated team members who have worked tirelessly to develop our expansion plans, to the City of Indio officials who have provided invaluable guidance and support along the way, this achievement is a testament to the power of collaboration and community.
As we look ahead to the future, I am filled with optimism and excitement for what lies ahead. Our expanded facilities will not only enable us to better meet the growing demand for our services but also allow us to continue our mission of providing compassionate care and support to those on their journey to recovery.
In addition to our exciting expansion project updates, I am thrilled to announce that ABC Recovery Center will be hosting the highly anticipated Oasis of Hope Gala on November 1st. This annual event is a celebration of our shared commitment to hope, healing, and transformation. It is an opportunity for us to come together as a community and honor those who have made significant contributions to the field of addiction recovery. I am excited to share that we will be announcing this year's honoree very soon, so stay tuned for more details on what promises to be an unforgettable evening filled with inspiration and camaraderie. Save the date, and let's come together to celebrate the power of hope and resilience
Thank you all for your continued dedication and support. Together, we are making a positive impact on the lives of countless individuals and families in our community.
Warm regards,

Helping HARC (Health Assessment and Research for Communities)
|
|
HARC (Health Assessment and Research for Communities) reached out to ABC Recovery Center to help with phase 2 of their RODA project. From 2008 to 2016, Riverside County had been experiencing a steady increase in the number of overdose deaths; however, in 2017, overdose deaths and rates began to increase significantly. This rapid rise in overdoses can be attributed to synthetic opioids, particularly fentanyl, and methamphetamine addiction. RODA was established in 2019, to counter the rapid rise of overdoses, using enhanced surveillance data to guide overdose prevention efforts.
Since the launch of the program, notable successes include establishing monthly mortality surveillance reports, an interactive countywide overdose data dashboard, a multi-disciplinary overdose fatality review team, public health nursing case management for substance use, youth overdose prevention training, bystander naloxone training, and much more.
HARC has asked ABC Recovery Center to help distribute the RODA survey to those who have experienced an overdose. They have classified "overdose" as "either accidentally or on purpose used a drug that was too much for your body to handle. This can result in a loss of awareness, being unconscious, or being non-responsive.”
Through these survey's they wish to better understand drug overdoses and what mitigation steps can be put in place to stop them. If you have had an overdose experience please take the 10 minute survey. All surveys are confidential.
THANK YOU

Hello Families,
2024 is off to a great start here at ABC Recovery Center’s Family Program. January‘s family workshop involved 16 clients and 22 family members. It was wonderful having such a robust group that displayed love, concern, and support for each other. Here are some of the comments from our participants:
“I was able to have my voice heard and learn to let go of the past, move forward, setting and communicating healthy boundaries.”
“I felt supported knowing that others have experience what I have, this has lifted a weight off my shoulders.”
The webinar is continuing with strong support and we’ve had an additional webinar on Saturdays please join Thursday 4:00 to 5:00 or Saturday 10:00 to 11:00 by cutting and pasting the link into your browser: https://us06web.zoom.us/j/88450969004
We look forward to assisting more families in 2024!

Every month, the ABC Recovery Center team identifies our Rock Stars. This is a peer designation which makes it even more special. Rock Stars are member of our staff who are going above and beyond the expectations of their positions. They are making our mission happen and are integral to the important changes we are helping our clients make in their lives.
Monthly, staff are included in the request to nominate a Rock Star. They are asked what inspired them to nominate their peer and are provided six criteria to select from that apply to their nominee. The survey is tabulated, and the winners are announced by Human Resources.

A big "Thank you" to the owners of La Quinta's Nothing Bundt Cakes, Ellie Koch Tropple and Jeff Tropple. Their thoughtful generosity in providing cakes for us each month helps us recognize and celebrate those in our organization who have been given another year, and a second chance at life.

ABC Recovery Center's Core Values
|
|
An organizational culture and delivery of service promoting the belief that no one life is more important than another. We value every person, every client as an individual and respect their journey providing dignity, and empathy to everyone seen and served.
Those who are like-minded and adhere to the science that addiction is a disease and those challenged with this disease deserve compassion, encouragement and every opportunity in attaining a new beginning.
Our work towards an organizational future when we will have the capacity to open our doors to anyone who will need our services without concern for compensation.
The search for and incorporation of leading therapies, treatments, and care models that provide our clients the greatest opportunity for successful sobriety.
The unlimited courage of our clients who seek treatment, for their life-affirming decision to say, “no more” and taking difficult steps that will be life-changing.
All those who encourage and support our clients and help shepherd them on their life-long journey, as we extend our care by incorporating family members whenever possible.
The time, education, training, effort and sacrifice of the employees at ABC Recovery Center, as they administer care to those we serve, often under difficult circumstances. Each one serving ethically and bench-marking our industry’s highest standards.
The fostering of teamwork and the creation of a culture that encourages collaboration rather than competition. Everyone on our team is an integral cog in the wheel, in support of our client's recovery.
The support of our donor community, whose contributions we steward with the utmost care.
The legacy of all clients served and how their journey further affirms our dedication and informs our service.
