"The 73rd National Day of Prayer"

The 73rd National Day of Prayer will be commemorated Thursday, May 2, 2024. The theme is “Lift Up The Word; Light Up The World!” The scriptural reference is II Samuel 22: 29-31. The National Day of Prayer is an annual observance held on the first Thursday of May, inviting people of all faiths to pray for America.

Prayer has played an important role historically in American heritage, as many of our nation’s forefathers and leaders turned to prayer for strength, inspiration, and solidarity. We have a biblical mandate to pray for our leaders (I Timothy 2:1-3).

Pray for America and that its leaders will seek God and serve Him in a manner that is worthy of their positions of influence; especially as many establish impacting policies and serve somewhere in the seven centers of power: Government, Military: Media; Business; Education; Family; and Church. PRAY:

• Pray for our president and all governmental officials of the United States of America and other nations.
• Supplicate for our present administration/current leaders from every rank―government officials on the national, state, and city levels.
• Supplicate for the seven centers of power: government, church, education, media, family, business, and military.
• Intercede that our leaders would allow God to guide them to lead the United States.
• Pray that amid economic crisis and uncertainty that God’s wisdom and power would flow through them and that it would be displayed in their speech and their actions.
• Petition for our federal judiciary leaders who value constitutional rights and religious liberties.
• Intercede that efforts and proposed legislation would not prosper that seek to remove our acknowledgement of God in our nation.
• Pray for God’s perfect will be done for the upcoming U.S. 2024 Elections.
• Cry out to God, asking Him to pour out His Spirit upon our national leaders, and their hearts and ears would be attentive to godly counsel. Intercede that they be just, and lead in the fear of God and surround themselves with good staff members and advisers.
• Believe for a great awakening to sweep across the United States and nations worldwide. Pray for great revival and that God would “pour out His Spirit upon all flesh,” as His glory is revealed!
• Render prayer for all spiritual leaders and churches. Pray each practice Godly principles, and have specific needs met, according to God’s will. Pray that God will help all leaders to fulfill His divine call in their lives with great success!
• Pray that we “Lift Up The Word; Light Up The World!”

The Seven Centers of Power

As we observe the 73rd NATIONAL DAY OF PRAYER, let's pray fervently! The scriptural theme is “Lift Up The Word; Light Up The World!” It is essential that we pray for America and the nations of our world!

  Pray that our prayers will avail much in our land and among our leaders in the Seven Centers of Power:

I. GOVERNMENT: President, Senate, House of Representatives, Supreme Court, all federal, state, city, and local officials, and ranking government administration.

• Pray that all make upright decisions and manifest Godly actions in fulfilling their roles of leadership and establishing compatible laws to govern our country. Pray for national repentance and a great spiritual awakening in America (Proverbs 29:2).

II. MILITARY: Men and women serving in the military who fight to protect our country and other territories by combating opposing forces and contending for civil liberties.

• Pray for God’s divine intervention for our military and their families (Psalm 140:7).

III. MEDIA: Every communication channel through which news, entertainment, education, data, and promotional messages, etc., are disseminated.

• Pray the avenues used to deliver information to society exists as tools that would be unbiased but advantageous in a moral and upright manner (Proverbs 8:6).

IV. BUSINESS: U.S. Economy, businesses, enterprises, and organizations engaged in the trade of goods/services to consumers and those doing commercially viable & profitable work.

• Pray for God’s prosperity for businesses in our economy (Proverbs 22:29).

V. EDUCATION: All who are a part of institutions of learning and involved in the process of imparting or acquiring knowledge and developing thought and intellectual maturity, which includes students, teachers, staff, administrators, and those who are affiliated with schools, colleges, universities, and other educational systems.

• Pray for Godly morals/tenets to permeate America’s classrooms (Psalm 119:66).

VI. FAMILY: Individuals who comprise family units in society, including husbands, wives, parents, children, relatives, and others in this category who share kindred relational ethics.

• Pray that God would strengthen, heal, and restore family households. Pray that His priorities and good Biblical values would be exemplified in every home (Mark 3:25).

VII. CHURCH: All spiritual leaders and churches in America who are engaged in Christian worship. The entire UPCI Church Body and all Apostolics, including all leadership and laity.

• Pray for Apostolic dominion power to sweep our fellowship. Pray for the full operation of the fivefold ministry and an outpouring of God’s Spirit with miracles, signs, and wonders. Pray for a sovereign revival and harvest (Ephesians 3:20-21).

24/7 WATCH: A Year-Round Initiative for 24/7 Prayer

As of January 1, 2023, WNOP has continued the 24/7 prayer and fasting chain worldwide. It has been such a great success in 2022 that it was requested again. Each week WNOP is posting a prayer focus as daily prayer for the entire week. Also, weekly a video is posted on the WNOP Facebook Page of a prayer leader and/or minister leading in periodic prayer.

Many people throughout the world have signed up by committing in their hearts unto God that they will consistently join together in united prayer and fasting. WNOP also has partnered with those in local churches who are already a part of a current 24-hour prayer chain. All of these hours of consecration are culminating to help provide a complete mass prayer covering over the entire Church body and to help bring greater success in all that we do in Christ! Together, let’s “watch and pray” and behold great and mighty things in the kingdom of God! Let’s prevail over the enemy with victory and declare, “Not on My Watch!”

"For you are my lamp, O Lord, and my God lightens my darkness. For by You I can run against a troop, and by my God I can leap over a wall. This God—his way is perfect; the word of the Lord proves true; He is a shield for all those who take refuge in Him" (II Samuel 22:29-31).

National Prayer:

Jesus, we profess our faith in You. You are the Light of the world, and in You there is no darkness. For You are our lamp, O LORD, and our GOD who lights our darkness. Forgive us for fearing and focusing on the darkness around us instead of being filled with faith and shining like the city on a hill You have called us to be. Forgive us for the times when we have been the absence of light, allowing darkness to dwell in America. Lead us forward to dispel the darkness and bring light throughout the Church, Family, Education, Business, Military, Government, and Arts, Entertainment, and Media. We are saved by grace through faith, released from the darkness that once held us captive and now free to walk in the newness of life in You. Light dispels darkness and exposes what is hidden and wicked, so we commit to rise and shine! For by You, Lord, we can take courage to run against the enemy, and by our God we can fight the good fight and keep the faith as living lampstands in our communities and country. We fear no evil for You are with us. Lord, Your way is perfect, You lead us on paths of righteousness for Your name's sake. Your Word is a lamp to our feet and a light to our path. Your Word is Truth, instructing and inspiring us to live in the abundant life You gave when You saved us from the death and destruction of the enemy. Fill us with Truth as we read, study, and live Your Word. God, You are a shield for all those who take refuge in You. As we abide in You and Your Word abides in us, we take up our shield of faith and the sword of the Spirit which is the Word of God and run boldly into the darkness to Lift Up the Word and Light Up the World! In the Mighty name of Jesus we pray, amen!

POA's HOPE Prodigals Prayer Ministry

HELPING OUR PRODIGALS ETERNALLY & HELPING OVERWHELMED PARENTS ENDURE

We will be praying one massive 90 Days of Prayer beginning July 4 and ending on October 1, the UPCI National Day of Prayer for Prodigals. We anticipate the celebration of a great harvest of many of our beloved prodigals returning home to Jesus.

We are asking for all who can to join with 43 States and 38 Countries in prayer and fasting. We are believing for the power of god to free His beloved covenant people from the deception of the enemy. Like David at Ziglag, we intend to recover ALL (I Samuel 30:1-19).

Please begin to prepare your prayer teams. Beginning July 4, we will launch HOPE's 20th season of 90 Days of Prayer and Fasting. Because of family celebrations for the holiday, we will fast on Day 2, July 5. We will loosely follow the book, "Prayers For Prodigals, 90 Days of Prayer" by Dr. James Banks.
