Our Farmer and Rancher Mentoring program (F.A.R.M.) is is the region's first on-farm internship opportunity for beginning farmers, providing unmatched hands-on education to individuals who are pursing a career in agriculture production. How does it work?

  • Interns are paired with Mentor Farmers. Mentor Farmers have already applied and been approved for the 2024 season. Check out their bios here.

WELCOME, WYN!

ASD is so pleased to add Wyn Miller to our staff! Wyn is an East Tennessee native with deep roots in rural agriculture and agroecology. She was raised on a century farm, farming tobacco until the 90s, then pivoting to cattle and other livestock. Her family now manages 1,000 acres in regenerative livestock operations and direct markets grass-fed meats locally. She previously worked as a licensed landscape architect, working for local governments in the fields of stormwater management and green infrastructure, stream restorations, and ecological landscaping.

At ASD, she will be working for the Agroforestry team to provide agroforestry financial and technical assistance to farmers, coordinate agroforestry farm tours, and lead agroforestry trainings. In her free time, she enjoys replacing her lawn with native plants.
