Dear Ministry Partner,
Some pastors from the north of Vietnam have known me through our students and some of them attended the bible courses that I taught online (Zoom) in a bible school. There was one thing in common with them - that they contacted me and asked for me to train them. I considered this a "Macedonian call". This reminds me the account of Paul in Acts 16, “.. a vision appeared to Paul in the night; There stood a man of Macedonia, and prayed him saying, Come over into Macedonia, and help us.” (v.9).
Unlike apostle Paul, there was no vision that appeared to me, but I had phone calls and messages via Messenger or Zalo saying “Come and help us.” I believe that those are evidence of a call or vision. Compared to years ago, I had no contact nor knew how to start to help churches there. But right now, my concern is how to get more teachers to train church workers and leaders in the northern region.
On February 14-23, 2023, we started opening an accelerated class in northern Vietnam. There were 11 qualified pastors who joined this training. These pastors had some biblical education. However, they asked to be trained so that they could teach with more confidence. Simultaneously, we led a Teacher Training Workshop (TTW) and seven of them qualified to get the TTW’s certificates and the rest must wait for 2 more accelerated classes. In these 10 days of training, we finished books #1-4 of our curriculum. We focus on the Hmong Tribe, but we are also expanding to two other ethnic groups: Xuong and San Chi.
