The “Macedonian” Call

Dear Ministry Partner,

Some pastors from the north of Vietnam have known me through our students and some of them attended the bible courses that I taught online (Zoom) in a bible school. There was one thing in common with them - that they contacted me and asked for me to train them. I considered this a "Macedonian call". This reminds me the account of Paul in Acts 16, “.. a vision appeared to Paul in the night; There stood a man of Macedonia, and prayed him saying, Come over into Macedonia, and help us.” (v.9).

Unlike apostle Paul, there was no vision that appeared to me, but I had phone calls and messages via Messenger or Zalo saying “Come and help us.” I believe that those are evidence of a call or vision. Compared to years ago, I had no contact nor knew how to start to help churches there. But right now, my concern is how to get more teachers to train church workers and leaders in the northern region.

On February 14-23, 2023, we started opening an accelerated class in northern Vietnam. There were 11 qualified pastors who joined this training. These pastors had some biblical education. However, they asked to be trained so that they could teach with more confidence. Simultaneously, we led a Teacher Training Workshop (TTW) and seven of them qualified to get the TTW’s certificates and the rest must wait for 2 more accelerated classes. In these 10 days of training, we finished books #1-4 of our curriculum. We focus on the Hmong Tribe, but we are also expanding to two other ethnic groups: Xuong and San Chi.

These pastors are from 3 different provinces in the north of Vietnam

We would like to invite you to take part with us through prayer and giving. We are hoping, that through these pastors, there will be many classes that will open in a couple months this year.

Thank you for your prayers and support.

Testimonies

"My name is Mrs. T and I am a CCI student. I would like to give a testimony of what I learned from last August's conference in 2022. The “Resolving Conflict in a Godly Way” seminar helped me so much in understanding biblical teaching and the source of problems. It also helps me in developing relationships with my husband and other church members. Through the seminar, I learned to discover my personality and my husband's. Understanding mutual characters help me solve the problem better. I have learned to actively mediate in conflicts and sympathize with fellow Christians’ mistakes.

May God continuously teach and mold me to become like Christ in meekness and forgiveness. I am praying that God uses CCI to be a tool in His hands to equip and prepare workers for the Kingdom of God."

Mr. C is our second student from the Xuong Tribe, which is a small population in Vietnam; around 500 people. He is an assistant to his uncle, who is a pastor of his church. He joined our training in northern Vietnam. Below is his testimony:

“Praise God for allowing me to be trained by CCI. I just finished studying the first 4 books and can’t wait for the next training. Before I took this class, the Bible was confusing to me. The first book: Bible Study Methods and Rules of Interpretation, impressed me so much. It helps me so much in my personal study and for preparation in sharing the Word of God in my Bible group. Now, I have a basic method for discovering God's Word. I am so grateful to the Lord, Who opened the door to be equipped by CCI. I can’t wait for the next training.”

Help Support New Coordinators & Ministry Needs in Vietnam

Prayer Requests & Praises

  • Pray fervently for the protection of the Lord for our north and south Hmong Coordinators. They rented a house in the northwest so that they can travel around the province and another provinces.

  • Our south Coordinator was installed at a new church with around 500 believers in a southern province. His documents are in the process to be approved by local government. Pray that every document is accepted so he can officially led the church as a senior pastor.

  • A special class for Hmong and 2 other tribes in the north will start their second tentative training on June 20-29. Pray that God will provide every need for travel and food.

  • Pray for 3 new classes for Hmong in two northwest regions to be started this May.

  • May God provide financially to print books in Vietnamese and Hmong. It costs $1,700 every year.

  • Pray for Pastor G who planted 2 new churches. He needs at least 60 chairs for his 2 new churches. It is about 120,000vnd/chair x 60 = 7,200,000vnd = $310. May God provide for him financially.

  • The staff of CCI Vietnam is looking forward to the Global Conference to be held in Thailand in November. Many would like to go, but do not have the money to buy plane tickets. Please pray for God’s provision for this. If you feel led to help, please click HERE. Thank you.
