As far as I'm concerned, Punxsautawney Phil can shove it, because we're making the most of this winter with great riding, wonderful educational opportunities, and gearing up for a better-than-ever year in 2017. Want to know more about what we're up to? Read on!
LATEST NEWS
The Floridian contingent is having a great winter. Ella and I went to our first CDI of the season, and while it wasn't quite the show I wanted - Ella inexplicably saw dead people in the footing at Global - it was still a huge improvement from our first show of 2016. Our 66% in the Grand Prix and 67% in the Freestyle are a big step up on their own, but I'm particularly excited for how much room for improvement there is once we aren't spooking our way around the arena! I'm eager for the next one.

Team Sprieser spent last weekend at the Welcome Back to White Fences show, where Judy and Fender made their successful Fourth Level debut, Beverley Thomas's Fiero and I won two Intermediate I Freestyle classes on 71 and 73, and we crowned our newest USDF Silver Medalist! HUGE congratulations to Liza Broadbent and to her wonderful Victorious, a horse who's been busting our expectations of him since the very beginning.

And up in Ocala, our friend and student Sarah Drew and her wonderful mare Tessa are getting their season off right with her first Second Level scores for her USDF Bronze Medal! Congrats, Sarah and Tessa! Third Level is just around the corner.

AROUND THE FARM
We're very excited to welcome our new friends Rhonda and Duka to Team Sprieser! Duka is a BIG, beautiful Hanoverian mare, and we're very excited to help her show Rhonda the ropes of dressage. We're also so excited to welcome new working student Abby, who comes to us from eventer-land, but we're working on converting her to the dark side, one day at a time. Welcome, ladies!

We also opened our doors to two huge rounds of Adult Campers! If you missed it, Adult Dressage Camp is a fun weekend of lessons (including lunge lessons and cavaletti) and great educational lunches from our friends at Davis Equine and Tribute Equine Nutrition. Thanks to Chad and Lindsey for their help, and thanks to TLP Equine for GREAT photos, which you can see on Facebook! We're confirming our March camp for the 25-26, so if you want to learn more, email lisa@spriesersporthorse.com. These book VERY quickly!

If you're looking to make more progress this winter, consider joining us for some short-term training board. Enjoy our indoor arena, heated grooming bays and wash stalls, freeze-proof waterers in our turnout, and covered exerciser for when turnout isn't possible. Your horse will be ready to rock and roll come Spring, and you won't have to break ice out of buckets! Email me for more information.
WHAT'S NEXT
Our show planning party was a huge success! If you missed it, we've got some handouts from the event, including a recently updated schooling show schedule, a finalized recognized show schedule, and some other helpful fliers on goal setting and on what registration numbers you need to go to a recognized show. Email me for those documents.

I fly home to Virginia to teach two more weekends this winter: February 18-19 and March 11-12. Unlike our usual lessons, which are scheduled on TimeCenter.com, I make my schedule for these trips by hand, so please shoot me an email to be included.

Lisa and Natasha are in full swing with their lesson schedules, including hub visits to Nokesville, Middleburg, Aldie, Upperville, Millwood, Richmond and Spotsylvania. To sign up for lessons, check out our e-scheduling website; to learn more about our hubs, email me directly. We're also booking FAST for Lisa's weekly Cavaletti Sunday lessons, so be sure to log onto TimeCenter early to guarantee your spot!

Lastly, we're putting together our next visit with saddle fitter Colleen Meyer for sometime in April. Colleen's knowledge of saddles and fitting is unparalleled, and while she does sell saddles of her own, she'll look at other makes and models, and her sole priority is helping you and your horse feel your best within your budget. Email me to learn more about the process, and to sign up for a spot. Colleen works with both dressage and jumping saddles, and their fit is exceptional, at a better price than any other elite saddle company out there. You can't afford to miss this opportunity!
