What an impactful day!

First, we are so grateful to our event chairs Julie Isaacson and Louanne Smolin. Both devoted ORTists, each spoke so beautifully of their own ORT legacy, and the enduring impact of an ORT education.

Thank you to our other amazing speakers ORT America CEO and COO Allison Weinger, ORT Chicago Advisory Council President Lori Fink, and ORT America Board Member David Eaton. ORT Chicago is so grateful to have such a spectacular community of eloquent leaders.

We were delighted to present longtime, passionate ORT supporter Roberta "Bobbi" Teitelbaum, with the Tikkun Olam Leadership Award.

Bobbi is an inspiration to so many at ORT. Her commitment to this community, and to making the world a better place, is remarkable.

As Julie said in her opening comments, if you looked up "mensch" in a dictionary, you'd find a picture of Bobbi.

The conversation with our guest authors, Shaina Feinberg and Julia Rothman was engaging and meaningful. And, as always, they were expertly interviewed by Judy Levin.

Their book, "How We Got By", is hopeful and moving, and the theme of resilience through hardship is so pertinent to ORT's every day work: giving students, teachers and schools the resources they need to thrive through adversity.

We were all so inspired and moved by Mila Finkelshtein, CEO of ORT Ukraine. The situation in her country, for thousands of students, teachers and their families, is unthinkable. She shared with us that even as her communities continue to face the trauma of war, they are working tirelessly to ensure their students have access to education whenever possible.
