I would like to take this opportunity during the holiday season to thank our friends for their
gracious generosity on behalf of Valley Children's.
In 2017, Valley Children's was humbled by the generosity of so many Central Valley residents who invested in the health and future of the 1.3 million children in our region.
Your philanthropy allows us to improve access to care for children, ensuring they are never more than 30 miles from pediatric services. Because of you, Valley Children's will open new outpatient centers in Bakersfield, Clovis, Fowler and Modesto in the next year.
With help of local supporters, Valley Children's also welcomed its inaugural class of 13 pediatric residents. Giving young doctors an opportunity to practice, we expect to attract a new generation of medical professionals to meet the medical needs of Valley kids.
Philanthropic support received this past year will provide advanced treatment of pediatric epilepsy. The funding allows the hospital to upgrade to a Level 4 center, offering the most advanced surgical treatments closer to home for 2,200 patients.
The community also kindly donated to the Childhood Cancer Survivorship Program allowing Valley Children's to continue extraordinary care to pediatric cancer survivors so they can beat cancer and lead prosperous lives afterward.
As we move into the holidays and new year, Valley Children's is humbled and appreciative of our community's altruism and remembering that our children, our most precious resource, have Futures Worth Fighting For.
Sincerely,
Kim Ruiz Beck
