Dear Shark Football Family,
It is with very mixed emotions that I write this letter to people who have been a huge part of my daily life for the past 6 years. This afternoon I resigned as the Head Football Coach of Santiago High School. This is for no other reason than a family decision to have the opportunity to work closer to home. I have had nothing but great experiences at this school and in this program.
I am very fortunate that during my tenure here I have worked for a great school district and outstanding administration. They have been very supportive of our philosophy of developing young men. Some very important administrators that I am thankful to have had the opportunity to work for include our Superintendent Dr. Michael Lin, our former principal and current Administrative Director Reggie Thompkins, Principal Dr. Ryan Lewis and our Athletic Director Steve Mitchell. They have been very supportive of athletics and student endeavors in our district.
I would like to also thank our football parents who have been a huge part of our Shark Football Family. The support you have demonstrated for your son and the program have been outstanding. We have had some fun events including our Football Moms Clinic, Mother's Tea and Dads BBQ. Our Football Booster Board has done a remarkable job of helping us raise funds each year for equipment and supplies and I am greatful to our Booster Board and directors for their endless efforts to help grow the program each year.
Most importantly I would like to thank our football staff and players for all the work they do on a daily basis. As you know, football is a year round sport where the work done during the off season is critical to building a team. I am amazed at how hard our players continue to work day after day for each other. I thank them for allowing me to be their coach and to impact
MY life in so many different ways.
This is a great opportunity for the next Head Football Coach at Santiago. I believe that person will be coming into a great situation with terrific facilities and more importantly having a program that is supported by the community and administration.
