A BIG THANK YOU FROM THE SPES STAFF! “Church Family, Thank you so much for the cute board books. We had enough for all of the younger classrooms. We were able to cover all the classrooms with all of the crayons, markers, sticky notes, pencils, folders, notebooks, glue, chalk, construction paper. We appreciate all of the support you all give us. I am truly blessed by all of you!!” -Robin Verschoor, Director

MORSEL FOR MEDITATION

"Do something every day that you don't want to do; this is the golden rule for acquiring the habit of doing your duty without pain."

-Mark Twain

Discernment in its fullness takes a practiced heart, fine-tuned to hear the word of God and the single-mindedness to follow that word in love. It is truly a gift from God, but not one dropped from the skies fully formed. It is a gift cultivated by a prayerful life and the search for self-knowledge.

-Ernest Larkin

Prayer shouldn’t be casual or sporadic, dictated only by the needs of the moment. Prayer should be as much a part of our lives as breathing.

-Billy Graham

How is it, then, that the voice of God is not more distinctly heard by men? The answer to this question is: To be heard it must be listened for.

-Désiré-Joseph Mercier

Diary of a Theologian - A Book Can Be Dangerous

by Canon Victor Austin

Train Yourself in Godliness by Rev. Katie Gerber

I’m reminded of Paul’s first letter to Timothy, his young protégé. Paul says to Timothy (2:12), “Let no one despise your youth, but set the believers an example in speech and conduct, in love, in faith, in purity.”
