Transforming Parents' Lives, Improving Children's Futures
Greetings!

Thank YOU for stepping up! December brought such generosity from our donors in terms of financial contributions to support our programs as well as to provide gifts for our resident and alumni families through our 34th annual Holiday Shop. I want to sincerely thank all of you who made contributions or supported us in this important season of caring.

As always, I am so inspired by the families who come to Warren Village and, despite tremendous obstacles and challenges, commit to a path that will allow them to change the course of their lives. Sending you well wishes for a happy and healthy 2022!

Holiday Shop - The Tradition Continues
Thanks to the tremendous support of several corporate partners, this time-honored tradition continued for the 34th year. Residents and alumni enjoyed a week-long celebration replete with multiple visits from Santa, gifts, and a wonderful holiday brunch. Through the generous contributions of individuals and corporations, more than 150 Warren Village residents, alumni, and families living at Ivy Crossing received all of the gifts on their holiday wish lists.

For the 33rd year in a row, Denver Realtor Jay Longmire coordinated a very special visit and gift delivery from Santa.
Long-time supporters from Xcel Energy donated gifts for our Ivy Crossing families AND wrapped more than 150 gifts.
Additional thanks to Spirit of Christ Catholic Community for donating $2485 in gift cards; Hall and Evans law firm for donating gifts; Bank of America for donating gifts; Merrill Lynch for donating gifts; and IMA for donating gifts; Denver Women's Chorus for donating their time and talent; and Wands and Wishes Occasions and Pheobe Chidley for donating her time and talent.

Warren Village Partners with Florence Crittenton to Provide Services for Pregnant and Parenting Teen Moms
January 9th was move-in day at our First Step location for several teen mothers and their children. We are very excited about the launch of this new pilot program in partnership with Florence Crittenton Services (FloCrit), which will provide safe housing and on-site wraparound services to 11 pregnant and parenting teen moms, who are enrolled at Denver Public Schools’ Florence Crittenton High School
The Colorado Health Foundation provided a 36-month grant in the amount of $875,000 to support the program. “Lack of safe, stable, and affordable housing is one of the most pressing, intractable issues of our time. Warren Village and FloCrit have forged a first-of-its-kind partnership that addresses the roots of housing instability while charting the course for parents—and their children—to lead lives of good health and opportunity,” said Karen McNeil-Miller, Colorado Health Foundation president & CEO.

The First Step location has undergone months of renovations and thanks to our partners at IKEA, the families will enjoy all-new home furnishings valued at more than $15,000. "IKEA Centennial selected Warren Village First Step because it connected our vision to a reality of their need. We knew we could offer a total solution for the young families who needed a place to have a balance to recharge, grow, and succeed in life. We were able to offer in-kind donation solutions supporting a good night's sleep, healthy cooking and eating, small space storage, and organizing. We have really enjoyed sharing the know-how of IKEA Furnishing and providing a true home for these young women and their children," said Meagan Chiron, IKEA Loyalty Manager (pictured below left, ironing and hemming drapes for all rooms).
We are excited to announce our upcoming Spring Gala, to be held in-person on Saturday, April 30, 2022 at the Hyatt Regency, Denver Tech Center. This signature event will support our two-generation programs for hard-working single parents and their children.

This year’s Gala, titled, “Listen to My Story,” is a celebration of the rich diversity in the journeys that each of our single parents experience on their way to finding Warren Village, and in the process of transforming their own lives. The path to homelessness is not a singular one, and neither is the road to self-sufficiency. There are many layers to being unhoused. Every family faces a different set of challenges. Every parent and every child defines success in their own way.  Each of our single parents has a story that is filled with heartache, inspiration, and hope. This year’s Gala will give us the opportunity to learn from their intimate stories and appreciate the fragility of life.

The event will be attended by 400+ community and business leaders, and will include a lively cocktail reception, heartwarming testimonials from our resident families, a delicious seated dinner, a coffee and dessert bar, a fabulous live auction, and dancing to live music. It will be a fabulous night! We hope very much that you can support us.
