Prevent Food Waste in 2024!

Each year, the average American family of four loses more than $1,500 to uneaten food. USDA offers a range of advice to help Americans reduce food waste, which in turn increases household food budgets and makes nutritious diets more affordable.

To kickstart the year, consider planning meals ahead, buying in bulk, and exploring budget-friendly recipes using versatile ingredients. Don't forget to store leftovers properly to minimize food waste. Happy saving!

Get creative and use that extra turkey in the fridge before you have to throw it away! This Turkey and Wild Rice Soup is the perfect way to reuse your turkey leftovers.

Watch for fabulous recipes on our Facebook page at facebook.com/ComalAgriLifeExtension/ for the month of January.
