Test Your Breast Cancer Knowledge
October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month, an annual campaign to increase awareness of the disease.

Breast cancer is characterized by a build up of abnormal breast cells that often form a mass of tissue called a lump, growth, or tumor. Breast cancer occurs when malignant tumors develop in the breast, and can spread in surrounding areas of the body.

There are many myths about breast cancer floating around, so make sure you know the most important information.

Signs and Symptoms of Breast Cancer

Common symptoms include: painless lump, lump or swelling in the underarms, breast pain or heaviness, persistent changes of breast tissue such as swelling, thickening, or redness of the skin, and any nipple changes.

If the tumor is small, there are typically no symptoms, which is why screening is important.
