 The Brooklyn Oratory Parishes

Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary and St. Boniface

June 6, 2024

Online giving:  https://oratorychurch.org/onlinegiving

Thank you Father Raj!

For almost the past two years, Father Raj has been an invaluable support to the Brooklyn Oratory, and to both of our parishes. We have been blessed by his ministerial presence, as well as his leadership in our Family Faith Program. Now, as announced on Pentecost, the pastoral needs of his own house (the Rockland Oratory) have increased and he has been asked to return. While he will be with us through the end of the summer, please join all of us in thanking Raj for everything he has done. We will honor him at a special Coffee Hour on the weekend of August 24 and 25.

Congratulations to our Young People!

On Saturday evening 5pm Vigil Mass, at Assumption, Archbishop Terrence Prendergast, S.J., Emeritus Archbishop of Ottawa-Cornwall in Canada will be conferring the Sacrament of Confirmation on a group of 20 young people from Assumption, St. Boniface, and St. Charles parishes.

On Sunday morning at Assumption, 9:30am Mass, nine children will receive their First Communion and four children will receive at St. Boniface, 11:15am.

Special Collection for Parish Sacramental/Catechetical Programs

As we celebrate First Communions and Confirmations, we will take up a second collection this weekend in support of this combined program of both Oratory Parishes. Donations can be made on Pushpay. Your generosity is greatly appreciated.

Fathers’ Day Novena

We will have our Novena of Masses for our fathers, living and deceased, starting on June 16, Father’s Day. Please email your names to the office: info@oratorychurch.org or use your parish giving envelopes. The names will be posted at both churches. The suggested donation is $20.00. You can make your donation on Pushpay.

Social Justice Action/St. Mary Star of the Sea (SMSS) MENS Clothing Donation Request.

Catholic Charities is partnering with SMSS (467 Court St.) to help distribute clothing to the local migrant/asylee population. The need is great, as the numbers have increased significantly in the past months. In response to that request, Mary Carriero and her team from SMSS have created clothing pop-up shops. The Oratory Social Justice Action group would like to support them by requesting clothing donations.

The immediate need now is for men's clothing in sizes small and medium. (No women's clothing will be accepted at this time.)
