Latkes & Laughs Tickets On Sale Now!

Temple Emanu-El in San Jose is excited to present it's Annual Latkes & Laughs show, available to everyone around the world via Zoom this year with some amazing talent! This is both a "FUNdraiser" and unique, virtual get together for the Jewish Community, on Sunday, December 5th, from 6:30 - 7:30pm, the final night of Chanukah.

We are offering a watch party, in addition to the at home Zoom experience! Get all the details below!

Jewish Family Services - Embrace A Family
November 18th - December 15th

Once again, Temple Emanu-El is partnering with Jewish Family Services of Silicon Valley to fulfill the Chanukah and holiday wishes of families and seniors who would otherwise go without gifts. To maintain the safety of JFS staff, volunteers and clients during COVID 19, this year wishes will be on a virtual dreidel board.  Visit the JFS SV SignUpGenius page at


Temple Emanu-El + Second Harvest Holiday Dinner Drive
Join Temple Emanu-El as we support Second Harvest of Silicon Valley in their annual Dinner Drive. Every donation helps to provide meals for families in need. Any amount goes a long way to feeding those in our community.

Put on your dancin' shoes and come to our free Israeli dance class taught by our very own Loui Tucker. No dance experience necessary and we welcome everyone from the community to join in the fun.

Family Shabbat Led By Shoshanim (5th Grade)
Friday, December 3rd // 7:00pm

Shabbat Shalom! We are excited to have our Shoshanim (5th Grade) Students leading services tonight. This will be a unique experience and we invite you to participate and sing with us.

Tonight's service is also the 6th Night of Chanukah, and we invite you to bring your Chanukiah to light with everyone after the service. As part of our Oneg, we will have Sufganiyot to go! We look forward to seeing you there!

Sisterhood Chanukah Party
Saturday, December 4th // 5:00pm

Please join Sisterhood for our Annual Hanukkah Party on Saturday, December 4 at 5:00PM. It will be at the home of Arlene Williams. There will be a potluck dinner and we will be making latkes. We will also have a Havdalah service. Please bring a gift (worth no more than $20) so you can participate in a Gift Exchange.

Rock Shabbat is BACK!
Friday, December 10th // 7:00pm

Yes! Rock Shabbat is back! Come join us IN-PERSON for a special and unique musical Shabbat experience. Music will be provided by Temple Emanu-El's congregational band! You don't want to miss this Shabbat service.

Sisterhood MahJong Cards
Want to play Mah Jongg? The Temple Emanu-El Sisterhood is now selling Mah Jongg cards! They are $10.00 for the large and $9.00 for the regular cards. Checks can be made out to "Temple Emanu-El Sisterhood" and be mailed to Bobi Levine.

Community Candle Lighting at the Pruneyard
Thursday, December 2nd // 4:30pm

Please join us for a special Hanukkah celebration with the entire Silicon Valley Jewish community. Featuring the music of Lior Ben-Hur and Yavneh Day School students, followed by a reading of Larry’s Latkes by local PJ Library author, Jenna Waldman. We’ll close with a big thank-you to our community leaders, and words from Campbell’s Mayor, Elizabeth Gibbons & Campbell’s Vice Mayor, Paul Resnikoff.

Help Respond to the Current Refugee Crisis: Did you know that in Santa Clara County, Jewish Family Services of Silicon Valley is one of only two nonprofits providing refugee resettlement and connected services for families and individuals?

Currently, JFS SV is assisting refugees from Afghanistan and other locations. If you are interested in learning more, have questions or ideas, or would like to provide support to refugees in other ways, please contact JFS SV volunteer and refugee housing committee member, Debbie Michels, debbiemichels@yahoo.com, 408-507-1282.
