Dr. Hemdat Salay is a post-doctoral researcher studying the matrilineal communities of South India. Her commitment to women's issues drives her engagement in social entrepreneurship and various volunteer efforts. In 2022, she volunteered at the Poland-Ukraine border, assisting mothers and girls crossing to safety, an experience that ignited her passion for Jewish dialogue.
Hemdat is a member of Kibbutz Kfar Szold on Israel's northern border. She is deeply dedicated to her community, actively involved in advocacy, leading community processes, and organizing meaningful gatherings to build resilience and cohesion.

What treasures do you have hanging around your house that you don’t use anymore?
Please consider consigning your gently loved but surplus items to the Sisterhood account at the Exchange Consignment Shop in Sarasota. The Exchange accepts donations of clothing, household items, art and furniture. Your discards can benefit Sisterhood and the arts community of Sarasota and Manatee counties. When your donations are sold, the Exchange will pay 60% of the sales price to Sisterhood.
