A Message from the City Manager

Greetings-

I’m proud to share that last month, the City formed a partnership with Care Solace to extend its services -- previously available only through enrollment at Temecula Valley Unified School District -- to all City of Temecula residents and businesses.

Regardless of insurance status or income level, Care Solace will help individuals and families living within the City of Temecula, as well as employees who work in Temecula, find available mental health care and/or substance use providers, when and if needed. Care Solace can also connect residents to social services such as housing, health care and food, as well as community organizations that provide social assistance.

This program was unanimously approved by the Temecula City Council in July. Those who wish to access Care Solace navigation services can do so in the following ways:

•Call 888-515-7881 at any time. Support is available in 200+ languages. A dedicated Care Companion will help you every step of the way to research options, secure appointments, and follow up to make sure it is a good fit.

•Search anonymously by answering a few questions to get matched with an extensive list of care providers at: CareSolace.com/CA-Temecula.

Council Spotlight

Many of Temecula’s small businesses are owned and operated by your neighbors and local workforce. So shop local, Temecula! A portion of the money you spend goes right back into your community.

For this Council Spotlight, Council Member Zak Schwank stopped by Moraga Plaza (29760 Rancho California Rd) to show us how shopping local benefits our City.

Construction of the Santa Gertrudis Trail Undercrossing at Margarita Road

Construction of the Santa Gertrudis Creek Trail will extend the trail underneath Margarita Road, eliminating the need to cross on Margarita Road. Construction of the project closes a portion of the trail from August 2024 until January 2025 (subject to change) as follows:

- No access between the trail and Margarita Road. Both access points, on each side of Margarita Road, will be closed during construction (work site circled on map).

- Please abide by all closure signs and avoid the construction zone by using alternative routes such as Roripaugh Road, Winchester Road, Ynez Road, and/or the nearby pedestrian/bike bridge across Santa Gertrudis Creek.

Reconfiguration of Roger Epperson Memorial Parking Lot

The parking lot layout is being reconfigured, including new pavement, asphalt, lights and 22 additional parking spaces. Please visit TemeculaCA.gov/SouthsideLot for project phasing and timeline details. Alternative parking is available in the gravel lot across the street on the corner of Old Town Front and First St (see map image). Please drive & walk carefully near the work zone.

Watch for Horse Crossing Signals

Did you know the City of Temecula has designated horse crossing signals along Ynez Road and DePortola Road? There are several more throughout Temecula Valley Wine Country. Like a pedestrian crosswalk, drivers must yield and stop for equestrian riders anytime they cross the roadway, including when the yellow light flashes. Please give as much distance as possible to the horses. Once the equestrian riders have safely crossed, traffic may proceed with caution.

When driving through equestrian neighborhoods, look for horseback riders, share the road, and drive safe. Also be on the lookout for lowered speed limit signs along Ynez Road and DePortola Road in the near future.
