A Message from the City Manager

Greetings -

The topic of e-bike safety is a priority for the City of Temecula as we work in collaboration with our Sheriff's Office and Temecula Valley Unified School District to raise awareness and keep our residents safe.

With the rising popularity of e-bikes and Summer around the corner, drivers should anticipate more youth to be outside enjoying our beautiful City's trails and bike lanes, as they should.

Today's message is to all parents to please make sure your kids are wearing a helmet. This includes e-bikes but also bicycles, and motorized and nonmotorized skateboards and scooters. For positive reinforcement, deputies around town are Catching Kids with their Helmets on! The reward? Gift certificates for local treats! Click here for more information.

And for those who do not have a helmet, the City of Temecula is proud to support the @CaughtwithYourHelmetOn Helmet Safety Campaign (an affiliate of @BikeTemeculaValley) encouraging our youth to always ride with proper safety gear and helmets.

A special thanks to Angelyn Miracle-Fowler, founder of 'Caught with your Helmet On' who was recognized by the City Council tonight. Throughout the month of May, various locations and businesses around Temecula will be collecting donations for NEW helmets (of any size). These helmets will then be distributed to our local Cal Fire, CHP and Temecula Sheriff's Department to be given to our local youth in need.

If interested in donating, donation box locations are found at:
