TEEN STREETCODE ACADEMY WORKSHOP

We're excited to announce our partnership with StreetCode Academy! Explore the art of game design and digital tinkering with our workshop series for teens grades 6-12. Dive into the world of creative design using Roblox studio and TinkerCad software from June 17 to June 21 (excluding June 19). By registering, teens commit to participating in all workshop sessions.

StreetCode empowers communities of color to achieve their full potential by sharing the mindset, skills and access they need to embrace tech and innovation. This program is sponsored by Friends of the Redwood City Public Library through a generous grant from Electronic Arts.

A CELEBRATION OF BOOKS FUNDRAISER

Meet Children's Author-Illustrator Team & see Special Film to Support the Library

On Monday May 20 at 6pm, Redwood City Library Foundation is hosting local author Jorge Argueta and illustrator Elizabeth Gómez at the Downtown Library for a special family-friendly event. They will debut their book “Bilingüe, Superhéroe / Bilingual, Superhero,” a compelling story with an important theme: speaking more than one language is a super power.

The $10 ticket price includes a link to stream the feature-length documentary film "Story and Pictures By” before or after the event. The film takes audiences behind the scenes to meet the boundary pushers who create children’s picture books.

Proceeds support Redwood City Public Library. Bring the family to share the joy of books and help raise funds to support the Library!
