Who is Frank? -
I'm an MSEE who retired in 2011 with many years of experience at GE Medical Systems and Intel Corporation. I focused on designing electronics and software for medical systems and consumer products during my career. In my last assignment, I was part of the Intel Innovation Center, where we tested products for consumers, especially older adults.
Since my retirement, I've been helping friends and family members with their "smart home" technology and guiding those acting as "family caregivers." My wife, my sister-in-law, and my mother passed away due to Alzheimer's.
My sister, a retired RN, lives in a retirement community and provides an excellent interface for raising problems and implementing solutions.
Over the last three years, I have written many DIY technology articles to help readers with their elderly parent's technology. My focus is not on product reviews but on creating a solution to readers' problems that they can implement themselves. Since I have a 97-year-old aunt and I'm 80 myself, I extensively test these solutions before publishing. Many solutions have been personally helpful to me, such as smart lights, cameras, reminders, video calling, auto toilet flushing, automated showers, Amazon Alexa, and Amazon Fire TV, and I use them daily.

I welcome requests for solutions at any of the above sites where other readers can benefit from the interaction. However, you can also reach me at:
