A Message from CEO Dave Witsken
I’d like to take a moment to congratulate all of our STRIVE Award nominees, and to all those that took the time to nominate a co-worker. We received more than 110 nominations and we’ll be announcing the winners at the upcoming town hall meeting in September. While we are selecting the best of these nominations for awards, we are all very thankful and proud of all of the nominees and want to personally thank all of you for your dedicated work and contributions to UES.

Please Complete Your Training - Safety Review: Heat Stress!
Last month we shared the importance of being prepared and staying safe while working (and playing) outdoors, whether outdoor work is a major component of your job here at UES, or you are more of a weekend warrior spending time outdoors doing yardwork or engaging in family activities. As an additional resource, the Safety and Learning and Development teams have assigned team members the module “Safety Review: Heat Stress” learning through the LMS for those most impacted in their work by extreme weather conditions.

A Quick Response for a Slow & Steady Friend
UES Las Vegas had an unexpected visitor on one of their job sites recently - a desert tortoise! Within 30 minutes of the call, UES deployed a biologist who stayed on-site 24/7 to monitor and ensure the safety of our newfound friend. UES' environmental services include biological monitoring for endangered and threatened species. In this instance, we briefly halted construction until the tortoise escaped harm's way.
