A Note from our Executive Director

Dear Lori,

I am so grateful to my sons’ first preschool teacher. Teacher Sandy was incredibly patient and kind. She understood when a child felt anxious at being separated from mom. She read the best stories at circle time. More importantly, she helped everyone learn to share, to play together, to use their words. Teacher Sandy laid the foundation for a love of learning.

May is Teacher Appreciation month. At LEAP, we will honor our wonderful teaching staff with a week of special treats and words of gratitude. There is no present we can give our teachers that equals the gift they give to our students every day.

This month, please reach out to a teacher who mattered to you. Let them know how they have impacted your life.

Exploring Nature at Our Children’s Center

Its spring and our Children’s Center garden is full of yummy herbs and leafy green vegetables. Gardens encourage sensory exploration, enhance cognitive development through observation, and foster an appreciation for the natural world.

Lompoc Wish Book

LEAP is hard at work preparing the new Lompoc Children’s Center. We are excited to expand affordable and high-quality child care services in the Lompoc community. As we prepare our facilities to meet regulatory requirements for licensure, we are seeking community support. Teacher Appreciation Week

May 6th - 10th is Teacher Appreciation Week! We are thankful to each and every one of our wonderful educators. Teachers are what make LEAP’s Children’s Center so special. They create a loving, joyful, and developmentally appropriate learning environment where each student can thrive.

This week we are celebrating our teachers with some fun activities and special treats. You can participate by thanking a teacher or mentor in your life.
