If you are looking for a rewarding way to serve your local community Tay Fire is actively recruiting Volunteer Firefighters.
Tay Fire and Emergency Services has a full-time Fire Chief, a full-time Deputy Fire Chief/Fire Prevention Officer, a part-time Chief Training Officer, and 76 dedicated volunteer firefighters that are committed to the protection of the citizens of Tay.

Municipal Office Closed for Thanksgiving

The Municipal Office at 450 Park Street in Victoria Harbour will be closed on Monday, October 9 for Thanksgiving and will re-open on Tuesday, October 10 at 8:30am. For after-hours emergency service for Roads, Parks, Water & Wastewater, please call 705-526-5762.

Thanksgiving Community Dinner

The wonderful Port Cafe is bringing back their Thanksgiving Community Dinner for the 3rd year in a row!
On October 7 between 3:00pm and 6:00pm "all of the fixings" will be available for dine-in (reservation only) or take-out/delivery.
Although this meal is being offered free of charge, donations are always appreciated. Please call during business hours to inquire 705-506-2233

#TeamTay made up of members of Council, Staff, and family members joined together for the 2023 Terry Fox Run in the Heart of Georgian Bay. This important event raises awareness for cancer and raises critical funds for cancer research. | |
Mayor Walker Proclaims September as Childhood Cancer Awareness Month in Tay Township | |
On September 5, Council and Staff gathered with Candlelighters Simcoe for a flag-raising to spread awareness for childhood cancer and to recognize the hard work of scientists, healthcare professionals, parent organizations, and volunteers who work to overcome childhood cancer and who provide aid to these families. Township Raises Flag for the National Day of Truth and Reconciliation |
On September 29, Council, Staff and members of the community gathered at the Tay Township Municipal Office for a flag raising to recognize and commemorate the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation (September 30).
Residents are encouraged to wear orange on September 30 to raise awareness of the very tragic legacy of residential schools, and to honour the thousands of Survivors. Both the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation and Orange Shirt Day take place on September 30. Orange Shirt Day is an Indigenous-led grassroots commemorative day that honours the children who survived Indian Residential Schools and remembers those who did not.

Reminder! Cloudpermit now Available in Tay Township | |
Tay Township's Building Department officially launched its new e-permitting software Cloudpermit on August 15.
The Township has seen a large increase in the number of building permits submitted over the past two years. This new electronic process will be more accessible for the public, builders, and designers, and make obtaining a permit more efficient. Residents and businesses can use the online software to submit applications, seek approvals, and submit questions from the comfort of their homes/offices.

Leaf and Yard Waste Collection | |
The County of Simcoe's curbside Leaf and Yard Waste Collection Program is set to start on October 2 in Zone One and October 9 in Zone Two (includes Tay Township), running bi-weekly into December with five collections per zone.
These bi-weekly collections include leaves, grass, branches (sized and bundled appropriately), and garden waste. Residents are reminded to use kraft paper yard waste bags, compostable bags, cardboard boxes, or open-ended rigid containers when placing leaf and yard waste at the curb. Seniors Advisory Committee Update | |
The Tay Township Seniors Advisory Committee has been busy planning and hosting events this month!
