Spring Road Maintenance
Our roads crew are once again keeping busy this time of year, street sweeping and filling potholes, helping keep our roads as safe as possible this time of year.

Street Sweeping
Street Sweeping is a multistep process. Township roads crew perform a first pass on municipal roads to collect accumulated sand and debris. A second pass is then completed by a contractor to remove any leftover sand and fine materials. This second pass may not immediately follow the first pass.

This year, Spring Street Sweeping will start in Waubaushene, with Victoria Harbour to follow, and will finish in Port McNicoll. Please note that rotation changes every year. Street sweeping will take place from April 3 to June 2, 2023 (weather permitting).

Watermain Flushing 2023
Municipal water users are advised that the flushing or swabbing of drinking
watermains will take place this Spring as follows:

Flushing Schedule: Monday to Friday only between 8:00 a.m. and 4:30 p.m.

  • Victoria Harbour – beginning April 17 for approx. 3 weeks
  • Port McNicoll/Midland Bay Woods – beginning May 8 for approx. 3 weeks
  • Waubaushene – beginning the week of May 29 for approx. 2 weeks
  • Rope Subdivision area – beginning June 12 for approx. 5 days

As a result of this work, you may experience a change in pressure and/or some discolouration, sediment in the water, or perhaps even no water for short periods of time. Should you experience discoloured water, following a flushing event, run your cold water for 10-15 minutes to clear the service line. If the water does not clear after this time, turn off the tap and wait 30 minutes and repeat the process.

Water use during the scheduled flushing periods should be kept to a minimum to avoid discolouration from entering your home or business. During these times, it is advisable to check the water prior to doing laundry.

If you have any questions or concerns, please contact the Ontario Clean Water Agency at 1-866-775-7712.
