2024 Census


Count yourself in for the Blackfalds Municipal Census until July 26, 2024!



Enumerators will be coming door to door to finish the remaining address that have not been completed online!

2024 Property Taxes

The 2024 combined Assessment & Tax Notices will be mailed out the first week of May and are due by June 30, 2024.


If you have not received your tax notice by May 31, 2024, please contact the Town Office at 403.885.4677 to request that another copy be sent out to you!

Notice to Residents

Front Parking Pad Open House


The Town of Blackfalds is considering allowing front parking pads again in residential front yards, and we'd love your input!


Front parking pads are hard-surfaced areas on a front lawn that are not attached to a garage to provide parking.


This open house is an opportunity to review the draft rules around front parking pads and provide your comments and suggestions!

Valley Ridge Estates Public Hearing


Town of Blackfalds Council is looking to adopt an updated Valley Ridge Estates Area Structure Plan (ASP), to guide the future subdivision and development of the remainder of the residential portion of the Valley Ridge Estates community.


Council is also looking to update the Land Use Bylaw Amending Bylaw No. 1309.24 specific to the Valley Ridge Estates community. The purpose of this Bylaw is to amend the Land Use Bylaw to redistrict Pt. NW 27-39-27-W4M from the current Residential Single Dwelling Medium Lot District (R-1M) to Residential High Density District (R-4).

McKay Ranch Area Public Hearing


Town of Blackfalds Council is lookiing to adopt adopt an updated McKay Ranch Area Structure Plan (ASP) to guide the future subdivision and development of the remainder of the McKay Ranch community.

The developer has applied to amend the ASP to change the future development concept to reflect an updated storm pond design, include more residential lots with back lanes, allow for larger lot residential parcels, and update pedestrian connectivity north of the manufactured home park.

Yard Waste Pick-Up


The seasonal yard waste pick-up program has begun!


Weekly collection of yard waste takes place on your designated waste/recycling collection day.


Container or paper bag must be marked with ‘YARD WASTE’ and must be visible to waste collection driver. Stickers are available at the Civic Centre front doors!

Our Citizen Request Portal gives residents simple access to Town services and reports any issues you find around Town; whether that be icy sidewalks, a fallen tree, street sweeping, etc.

Garbage/Recycling Cart Placement
The automated arms on the collection truck need to clasp and lift the carts. If there isn’t enough space for the equipment to operate correctly, your carts will not be emptied.

Leave at least 1 m (3 ft) around your carts so you can comfortably walk between and around them.

Blackfalds Health Professional Attraction & Retention Committee (BHPARC)
Who is BHPARC?
Committee members meet as needed and participate in a variety of activities that align with their interests, skills and abilities and include promoting health provider opportunities in Blackfalds, hosting community tours, building relationships with community health providers, organizing appreciation activities, and providing support to their families.

Want to Help? 

Many hands make light work and robust and diverse community representation on this Committee is welcome! In particular, residents who are seniors, well-connected to the local business community, newcomers to town, or who have a young family are invited to email for more information.


Did You Know?

Blackfalds has a Health Professional Attraction & Retention Committee. This group of community members works with individuals from Town Council and Administration and health service agencies to attract & retain health professionals in Blackfalds.

Helping People Find Their Strength


Those who would like to can now contribute to our Community Care account. Any amount is appreciated and a charitable receipt can be requested.


This account will be used to provide those who might need a little extra support with a complimentary day admission (youth must be accompanied by a parent/guardian).


We want to help sprinkle kindness around! Please contact Guest Services for the entire program information.
