June 2024 | Issue #10
Hi Friends,

Talie Jane interiors is expanding! We have taken over the adjacent, newly vacated office space and will be adding over 2,300 sq ft of additional offices as well as a luxury furniture showroom, the only of its kind on this side of the lake. The remodeling process has begun, and we expect to celebrate with a grand opening before the end of the year. We'll keep you posted on our progress but wanted to share the exciting news.

We had a great presence at the Clear Creek vendor fair on May 17th. Thank you to those who visited our booth! We look forward to collaborating with you on your upcoming projects.

In this issue, we discuss how best to work with an interior designer, have fun with design ideas or our furry, four-legged friends and dive into the psychology of color theory. We also highlight Jasmine, our draftsman extraordinaire, and offer great deals on designer furnishings.

Stay tuned for our large designer estate sale at the end of this summer. More to come!

Enjoy another beautiful Tahoe summer.

Wishing you great design,
Talie

How Best to Work with an Interior Designer
Working with an interior designer can be an extremely rewarding experience. Interior designers are quite literally experts in interior design. This can mean a few things to different people, but overall, designers help bring your vision to life by providing expertise and guidance. Utilizing best practices in working with a designer means maximizing that designer’s intellectual property.
In this month’s blog, we will discuss the importance of working with an Interior Designer: how to navigate and understand the process, value the relationship, enjoy the experience, and love the result – a functional and beautiful home.
Let’s start by defining an interior designer and outlining their responsibilities and deliverables.

Designing for our Four-Legged Friends
In the world of interior design, furry companions are often overlooked, and relegated to the realm of practicality rather than aesthetics. But what if I told you that your four-legged friends could not only coexist harmoniously with your décor but enhance it?

From choosing the right fabrics to incorporating pet-friendly furniture, there are countless ways to ensure your home remains a sanctuary for all its inhabitants, furry or otherwise. After all, home is where the heart is—and where our beloved pets make every moment a little brighter.
In this month's blog, we will be discussing the unique ways to flawlessly integrate four-legged friends into a well-designed home including pup-friendly furniture, spot-cleaning tips and tricks, feeding stations, built-in kennels, and ultimate wash stations.

The Power of Color: Understanding Color Psychology in Interior Design
Color is a universal language and a powerful communication tool. Of all the elements that make up a visual design, color is perhaps the most vital influential. It plays a vital role in fine arts such as painting and photography, advertising and branding, fashion, beauty, industrial design and of course interior design.

But what is it about color that goes beyond the simple hues we see in the rainbow? Color psychology is the study between color and human behavior. In other words, color psychology perceived color as a trigger of perceptions, feeling and emotions. It’s a fascinating field that explores how different hues can influence mood, decision-making and even physiological reactions, often in ways that operate beneath our conscious awareness.
