Every year, the Toronto Blues Society searches for Canada’s undiscovered blues talent. Six finalists are selected to perform for a professional development package including festival gigs, mentorship meetings, studio time, graphic design and much more!

We are now collecting submissions for the Search. 

The performance part of the Search will be held in front a live audience and the Talent Search judging panel as part of the TD Toronto Downtown Jazz Festival, on June 25, 2023.

Submitting to the TBS Talent Search is FREE for current TBS Charter/ Student/ Family/ Benefactor Members. A $10 submission fee is required for all Non-Member applications. 

Each artist/band may only submit ONE application.

The Toronto Blues Society celebrates 38 years of going to bat for blues! A not for profit charity with hundreds of members and a mission to provide Arts Service Organization support to the community, every now and then we need a party.  

Blues Dance will feature a great new venue at 1300 Gerrard Street on the fringe of Little India. Blues Dance will also feature live music from two great bands, Sugar Brown and The Swingin’ Blackjacks. Come dance the night away and bring your best shoes since Jackie Spicer from Eastside 6 is offering a crash course before the concert to get the booties shaking.  

TBS Members (Charter) in good standing enjoy discounted tickets and Jackie is offering a dedicated sign up for the Pre-show - introduction to blues dancing (a little fast, a little slow). No experience or partner is needed.  Lesson is only $10 extra.  

Enjoy the Redwood Lounge aka Dead Dog Cafe where food and beverage are on offer.

Join Brian Blain, Ken Whiteley and Rick Taylor up close and personal as they swap songs & stories and jam the blues. In the 70s, Rick Taylor was a regular at Canadian folk festivals and clubs then moved to BC for 23 years but he's back now and burning up stages in Southern Ontario. Ken Whiteley is one of Canada’s most respected “roots” musicians - a brilliant multi-instrumentalist and spirited entertainer. Brian Blain has released 5 CDs but is best known for his Campfire Jams at various festivals, conferences and venues over the years, bringing together the cream of the crop of Canadian blues musicians.
