Update about

Buddy Stewart Park Closure

As reported last week, Buddy Stewart Park suffered damage from the past storm that posed a public risk. Staff closed the main entrance of the park until work can be done to make the area safer for visitors.

Due to this week’s rain, the contractor has been unable to get the necessary heavy equipment into Buddy Stewart Park to remove the fallen trees and other large debris. The main entrance of the park will remain closed until the cleanup can be completed. If there are no further weather delays, staff members believe the park could reopen by May 27.

Bradshaw Park

Closed for Renovations

John P. Bradshaw Park will be getting a makeover. The construction work began this week and is expected to be completed by the first week of July. The park will be closed as this work is being done.

Crews will begin demolishing the existing fencing and concrete pads. Following the demo, the contractor will lay new forms for a connective concrete path, linking the new parking area, renovated basketball court and picnic table concrete pads. Get updates about the current park projects and view the Cleburne park system's master plan here.

Celebrating National Police Week

This week was dedicated to celebrating the remarkable courage of our law enforcement officers and honoring the fallen heroes who made the ultimate sacrifice to protect their fellow Americans.

National Police Week offers honor, remembrance and peer support, while allowing law enforcement, survivors and citizens to gather and pay homage to those who gave their lives in the line of duty. If you can, be sure to thank a Cleburne police officer when you see one!

Shoutout to Our Public Works Crew!

Public Works employees are the crucial pieces that support the main infrastructures of the City. From water to streets to sanitation and more, their work is what keeps the community thriving.

National Public Works Week is observed during the third full week of May to recognize the importance of public works in an organized society. This year, it takes place May 21-27. We’re so grateful for our public works employees and their commitment to keeping our community running.
