Give Your Input About the New Skatepark

A modern skatepark is coming to Cleburne, and it will be located at Hulen Park! We want to hear the community’s feedback about how the skatepark should be designed.

The design input survey is now open and will run through Nov. 30. The ideas gathered will be used to formulate various concepts that will be presented to the public at a future meeting.

The skatepark is part of the Cleburne Park and Recreation’s 10-Year Master plan. The plan outlines the vision for the community’s park and recreation system, its goals and possible projects through 2031.

Plan Accordingly for the City's Holiday Hours

The Thursday sanitation route will be collected on Friday, Nov. 24. View the full schedule for sanitation services, parks and recreation facilities and the library here.

There are Plenty of Perks for Joining CPD

The Cleburne Police Department (CPD) is hiring entry level and lateral transfer police officers. There's step pay, great benefits, no maximum age limit and paid training.

Qualified candidates can also receive additional incentive pay when joining any of CPD's specialty assignments or obtaining a specialty certification. The deadline to apply for the next police exam, which will be on Dec. 18, is Dec. 5. View more details and apply here.

Appreciation

for Our

Local Heroes

We’re grateful for those who keep us safe and healthy, so we’re inviting you to help us thank them at an upcoming event. The Layland Museum of History will be hosting a “Let’s Give Thanks” event on Nov. 21 and Nov. 22 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Those who attend can write or color a “thank you” letter to Cleburne firefighters, police or hospital workers. Supplies are provided, and the museum team will deliver them for you. The museum is located at 201 N. Caddo St.

A Thanksgiving Craft-ernoon at the Library

Need more ideas to keep the kids entertained during Thanksgiving break?

The Cleburne Public Library is the place to be to make Thanksgiving-themed artwork. Treat the kids to a fun afternoon of arts and crafts.

The fun will begin on Tuesday, Nov. 21 at 2 p.m. The activities will last until 4 p.m. Kids of all ages are welcome to attend. Parental help and supervision is needed for younger children.

Grab a Bite at the Golf Links Grille

Did you know our golf course serves hot meals? (And it's available to the public—not just for golfers.) The Links Grille is currently open from 10:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. each day the golf course is open.

There's a new fajitas special, in which you can get two fajitas with chips and a drink for $9.50 plus tax. Learn more about Links Grille here.

PET OF THE WEEK

We have plenty of kittens for you to adopt at the Cleburne Animal Shelter. One of them is cute little Abby. She's 4 months old and has been at the shelter since September.

As you can see, she loves to play. She'd make a great addition to any size home. Learn how you can adopt her here.

Remember: The Animal Shelter reduced its adoption fee to $25 for cats and dogs until further notice. Some long-stay pets can be adopted for only $10!

Low-Cost Vaccinations

The Texas Coalition for Animal Protection (TCAP) will offer low-cost vaccines, microchips, heartworm testing, flea/tick control and more this Saturday, Nov. 18 from 10 a.m. to noon at Cleburne Animal Services on 2375 Service Dr.
