Skatepark Public Meeting on Dec. 14

Want to learn more about the new skatepark that's coming to Hulen Park? Come to the public meeting on Thursday, Dec. 14 from 6 to 7:30 p.m. at the Cleburne Conference Center.

You'll be able to see concepts, based on the input received from the design survey, and contribute ideas for the facility's new design.

The skatepark is part of the Cleburne Park and Recreation’s 10-Year Master Plan. The plan outlines the vision for the community’s park and recreation system, its goals and possible projects through 2031. View the full plan here.

See What the Hoopla is About Next Week

Let the holiday fun continue! Come out to Holiday Hoopla at Hulen Park on Saturday, Dec. 16, hosted by the Cleburne Parks and Recreation Department.

Firefighter Reaches New Heights

When he’s not fighting fires and assisting with rescues, Trace Billings is climbing to higher heights. The Cleburne firefighter successfully climbed Nepal’s Ama Dablam, which is next to Mount Everest.

Billings said the mission was tough, and the climb took nine hours. The climb back down took nearly 20 hours. He noted that the Ama Dablam journey lived up to its reputation of being a very technical and exposed climb.

More Holiday Fun at the Library

Enjoy a Saturday of holiday family fun at the Cleburne Public Library! On Dec. 9, there will be an afternoon of games, snacks, craft time and a family movie.

Family Book Club begins at 11 a.m. Christmas Mix Snack Craft will follow at noon, and you can enjoy a family movie—“Charlie and the Chocolate Factory”—at 12:30 p.m. That’s back-to-back fun, so come on out.

PET OF THE WEEK

Thomas is such a sweet boy, and he's ready to meet his new family. This 2-year-old pit bull terrier mix is full of energy and love. He's very affectionate, so he's always down for a good belly rub or a treat.

Plus, adoption fees are only $10! Fill out an adoption application here.
