Preparing for the Total Solar Eclipse

There will be a total solar eclipse on Monday, April 8. In Cleburne, the partial eclipse will begin at approximately 12:22 p.m. Totality will take place around 1:39 p.m. and last approximately 3 minutes and 40 seconds.


Although the event will not last very long, there are some important safety tips to implement leading up to the celestial phenomenon. The Cleburne Police Department and Cleburne Fire Department will be out in full force to maintain safety and security, while ensuring that traffic runs smoothly. View the ways you can prepare here.

Get in on This Solar Eclipse Family Fun


Before the solar eclipse happens, you can make a stop at the Cleburne Railroad Museum for the Solar Eclipse Trivia Extravaganza. The fun will take place on Thursday, April 4 from 6 to 8 p.m.


Not only will there be trivia, the museum will have coloring sheets, activities and snacks for the little ones. Plus, it’s absolutely free!

Come Out to Lyrics at the Links

Your Friday nights in April are now booked. Cleburne Golf Links will host Lyrics at the Links throughout the month beginning at 6 p.m., featuring different area artists.


The event is free. Food will be available for purchase. Music will be performed on the deck of the clubhouse overlooking Lake Pat Cleburne. So, get ready to enjoy a great sunset view. Take a look at the artist lineup here.

Communitywide Egg Hunt


Bring your Easter baskets for the free communitywide Egg Hunt at Cleburne Sports Complex. The family-fun event will happen on Saturday, March 23 at 900 All Star Parkway.


Gates open at 10:30 a.m., and there will be egg hunts at various times based on age groups. Apart from the egg hunt, there will be bunny photos, food trucks and more. See more event details here.

Spotting Eggs Around Town


After the major egg hunt, citizens can join in on the EGGcellent Adventure. March 25-28, eggs will be hidden around town daily.


Follow the Cleburne Parks and Recreation’s Facebook page for clues to find out where the eggs will be hidden. When found, post a picture on social media using the hashtag #EGGcellentCleburne. Please only take one egg per person so others can enjoy the hunt, too.

Explore Plenty of Resources for Seniors

The 2024 Spring Senior Expo is getting closer. In fact, it will be held on Thursday, March 21 from 9:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at the Cleburne Conference Center.


The event will feature free health screenings, giveaways from local businesses, door prizes, a cake walk, complimentary refreshments and much more.

Fifth Saturday Fly-In at the Airport This Month


It's that time of year again. On March 30 from 8 to 11 a.m., the Cleburne Regional Airport will host its first Fifth Saturday Pancake Fly-In of 2024.


Bring your friends and family out for free breakfast and aviation talk. You can also learn about Dauntless Air and its aerial firefighting efforts. Plus, the Cleburne Fire Department will be on site for a fire extinguisher safety demonstration. 

PET OF THE WEEK

Frito Pie, anyone? No, not the food, but this one is just as comforting. Frito Pie has been at the Cleburne Animal Shelter since the end of January.

Lost Your Pet?


Pets brought into the Shelter as strays are placed on "Stray Hold" for a minimum of three days to give the owners a chance to reclaim their pet. These animals are not available for adoption during that time. Learn some ways you can find your lost pet here.
