Launching a New Home Improvement Incentive

Applications are now being accepted for the City's new Cleburne Pride Home Improvement Incentive Program. The program, which applies to single-family homes that are at least 30 years old, provides homeowners with financial incentives for making certain exterior improvements to their properties through a matching funds incentive program.


In general, the program provides reimbursement to the property owner of up to $5,000 based on a maximum 30% program match for eligible exterior improvements to single-family homes located within the city limits of Cleburne. Eligible projects must have a minimum cost of $4,000.

Meet Our Latest Employee All-Star


The City of Cleburne's STARS program recognizes staff members who go above and beyond to help serve the community. The newest recipient of the All-Star Award is Mark Pugh, the City’s street and drainage superintendent.


Pugh has worked for the City of Cleburne for five years. He's personable, funny and always willing to get into the trenches like a true servant leader. He also sprung into action to take control of the scene when a crash occurred in the downtown area. View more here.

Street Maintenance Program Still Going Strong

Through Cleburne's Street Maintenance Program, about 35.8 miles of roadway have been resurfaced since 2019. This year, 10.5 more miles of roadway are scheduled to be resurfaced. View the list of the 2024 streets here.


The City of Cleburne uses data to pinpoint the best budgetary investments for its street network. Apart from the Street Maintenance Program, city crews work year-round to complete base repairs, crack sealing, pothole repairs, street sweeping and paving. 

Mark Your Calendars for the Mardi Gras 5K


Let the good times roll! The Cleburne Parks and Recreation Department will be hosting a Mardi Gras 5K on Saturday, Feb. 3 at Cleburne Golf Links. The registration fee is $25 if you sign up by Jan. 20. It's $30 after that.


Racers must be at least 21 years old, and there will be medals awarded for the top male and female runners. View details and sign up here.

Final Special Pickup Date for Live Christmas Trees

If you forgot to put out your live Christmas tree on the curb for disposal this morning, there's another opportunity on Friday, Jan. 12. The trees must be put out on the curb prior to 7 a.m. All live trees must be free of lights, ornaments and other decorations.


In addition to the special pickup days, residents can set their tree out during normal bulk collection days or bring the tree to the Transfer Station for free with a current water bill as proof of residency.

Get Some Free Tech Help


Do you need some help learning how to use a computer? The Cleburne Public Library now has “Tech Time with Thomas” on Wednesdays from 10 a.m. to noon.


The one-on-one sessions are free. You can bring your own device or use one of the library’s computers. Walk-ins are welcome, but you can also set up an appointment by calling 817-645-0934.

Animal Resources for Johnson County


Cleburne Animal Services serves the citizens of the City of Cleburne.


The shelter does not provide service for the Johnson County area outside the city limits; however, there are agencies for county residents to report animal-related issues and concerns.
