Shyeanna Riggenbach, owner of Shae Dream LLC, is a mother of six; four of whom are girls! All of Shyeanna’s daughters participate in pageants, and as you might imagine, the the cost of purchasing a gown for each event is extremely expensive!

Out of the need to outfit her daughters, Shae Dream LLC was born.  Whether shopping for high school dances, pageants, weddings or other formal events, Shyeanna saw the need to make beautiful gowns more affordable for everyone.

Rather than spending up to thousands of dollars on a dress you will wear for a few hours, you can rent one at a fraction of the cost at Shae Dream LLC.

In addition to gowns, Shyeanna also offers an impressive line of vinyl graphic designs.

Let’s do lunch! Lunch & Learn is back for just a few sessions before the end of the year.  While we’ve been so busy with fairs, festivals, ribbon cuttings and charity events (all of our favorite stuff) we wanted to make sure that we didn’t let another year slip by without kick-starting Lunch & Learn again.

Like so many other things, COVID-19 really took a bite out of group gatherings. Slowly we are coming together again, and while being cautions, we are looking forward to sharing space, face-to-face!

So far, we have two L&Ls scheduled:

09/27–Wellness and Self-Care in Stressful times—Presented by WVU Medicine, Wetzel County Hospital

10/25–Ask a Financial Advisor—Presented by Mael Glennon, AAMS of Edward Jones (oil and gas royalty investment questions encouraged)

11/29–TBA

12/13–TBA

  • L&Ls will be the last Tuesday of each month with the exception of December.
  • Sessions are from 12 noon until 12:50.
  • Free lunch for those participating in person at the Chamber office (RSVP required as seating is limited).
  • Sessions will also be available on Zoom.
  • Sessions are free with in office priority given to members. Office capacity is 15.

River City Brass, featuring its special blend of American tunes, will kick off the 2022-23 season event offerings for ArtsLink on Sept. 27 at the Lincoln Theater in downtown New Martinsville. This concert is sponsored by J. C. Mensore Distributor, Inc.

Hailing from Pittsburgh, River City Brass features a special blend of American tunes, Big Band swing and jazz, Broadway and Hollywood music, classical and contemporary masterworks, and traditional marches.

The group will bring an eight-piece ensemble to Tyler and Wetzel counties, for both a public concert and a school activity. New Martinsville native Adam Leasure will be performing with the group.

In 1981 a musical renaissance took place in Pittsburgh under the baton of conductor Robert Bernat, when he brought the River City Brass to the Carnegie Music Hall stage for its inaugural concert. It was an evening of musical excellence and determination to bring about the revival of the grassroots tradition of the American brass band.

Over its history, RCB has had three maestros. The astute selection of Dr. James Gourlay was a watershed moment for American brass band music. Gourlay, a Scotland native, is acknowledged as one of the world’s greatest brass band conductors. An acclaimed tuba soloist, he began his career at age 18 as the principal tubist of the Birmingham Symphony Orchestra, the BBC Symphony Orchestra, and the Orchestra of the Zurich Opera. Gourlay also conducted Great Britain’s Grimethorpe Colliery Band, leading one of the most internationally lauded and prominent brass ensembles in the world on a touring schedule throughout the British Isles, Europe, Japan, Australia, and New Zealand.

Ticket prices for ArtsLink members are $10 individual, $15 family; non-members, $15 individual, $25 family; students $5. Credit cards will be accepted.
