PROGRESS REPORT
This semi-annual progress report summarizes the scope of work activities undertaken by R5DC for the period of October 1, 2022 to March 21, 2023. These activities are made possible by an Economic Development Administration (EDA) grant through the Partnership Planning Assistance Program.
COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT
COMMUNITY SAFETY PROJECT
As we continue to build connections and relationships within our Region 5 communities, we invite you to participate by taking the survey, attending an upcoming Story Circle, or connecting through a one-on-one conversation. These initiatives are part of the Rural MN Community Safety Project, designed for building greater collective safety and managing conflict in our region.

Heavy-duty diesel vehicle and transit bus replacement grant
The Minnesota Pollution Control Agency (MPCA) seeks public, private, and nonprofit owners of heavy-duty diesel on-road trucks and transit buses in Minnesota to apply to this competitive grant opportunity to partially fund new, cleaner versions of these vehicles.
The grant aims to reduce diesel emissions and improve air quality and public health by removing older diesel vehicles and equipment from operation and replacing them with new, less-polluting models. New on-road vehicles funded by this grant can be diesel, diesel hybrid electric, natural gas, or propane. Projects funded will reduce diesel emissions in Minnesota; fund new vehicles and pieces of equipment around the state; and fund a mixture of clean, alternative fuel technologies.

Proposals are due no later than 4:30 p.m. Central Time on April 28, 2023.
