Part Two – Dynamic and Kinesio Taping for Muscle Strength and Rehabilitation (3 hours)

Table stretching labs are a growing and profitable segment of the massage profession. In this workshop we teach you how to help your clients improve their flexibility, mobility, and posture.

Stretching is not only good for muscles, joints, ligaments, and the spine, but also for mental clarity, emotional balance, and a positive mood. Stretching can help reduce stress, prevent injuries, and enhance performance in sports, work, and life. But how do you stretch clients safely, correctly, and effectively?

If stretching is not performed correctly, you might be doing more harm than good to your clients.

Stretching not only improves flexibility, mobility, and posture, but it also improves blood circulation, muscle strength and coordination as well as significantly increasing muscle mass. This is especially important for older clients.

Clinical or sports taping is any technique that uses therapeutic tape to relieve pain and inflammation resulting from various physical disorders or sports injuries. The word kinesio is associated with the concept of body movement and physical activity. In this hands-on workshop we will combine table stretching methods with the correct application of kinesio and dynamic tape.

Dynamic taping is a therapeutic technique that uses a special type of elastic tape to modify the load and movement of injured structures, such as muscles, tendons, and joints. Dynamic tape can stretch in different directions and has more recoil than kinesio tape, which means it can act like a spring to absorb and inject force.

Dynamic taping can help with pain relief, inflammation reduction, joint stability, movement control, and function enhancement. Dynamic tape has been rapidly replacing kinesio tape as the tape of choice for chiropractors, physical therapists, and massage therapists.
