Week of February 19-25, 2024

Be Transformed by Christ - See Transformation for Christ

No Wednesday Night Activities This Week

Due to Winter Break, there will be no Wednesday night activities this week, February 21. We will resume our normal Wednesday schedule next week!

Baptism Sunday

The next opportunity for Baptism is Sunday, February 25 during the morning worship service. If you are thinking about being baptized or you have more questions about following Christ in this way, please contact stephen.allen@tabernacle.org.

Holy Season & Easter Choir

Do you have a heart for worship? Our choir is currently looking for additional voices to join us for our Holy Season services which culminate on Easter Sunday, March 31. Weekly rehearsals are on Wednesdays at 6:30 PM in the choir room, and there will be a special rehearsal on Sunday, February 25 after the service. Come and join us for this short-term commitment! Also, childcare is always provided during rehearsals for anyone who needs care for children.

Student DNOW Weekend

DNOW 2024 is March 22-24. Our 6th-12th grade students will worship, hear great messages, and spend time in small groups at our host homes. $65 covers all meals, a t-shirt, and other materials for the weekend. Price increases to $75 after 2/29 so register now by clicking the button below!

Discover Tabernacle Lunch

If you are considering joining our church family or want the opportunity to learn more about Tabernacle, then Discover Tabernacle on Sunday, March 3 is the best place to start! Here, you will discover what it means to belong to our church. You’ll learn our foundational beliefs, practices, and ministries so you can find your place. You’ll meet our staff and others who are journeying the same path. Please make your reservations by emailing crystal.gilley@tabernacle.org by February 29.

Vacation Bible School Leaders Needed

Vacation Bible School is the largest children's outreach in the life of our church! We are looking forward to inviting the community to join us as we learn that Truth Comes From God at our Breaker Rock Beach. VBS will be June 10-14 from 9 AM-12 PM and we need your help. Click the button to volunteer and sign your kids up to join us on this adventure!

New Adult Discipleship Class Begins 3/6

In addition to two other ongoing adult discipleship classes on Wednesday nights, Wally Dedman, Minister for Connections, will begin teaching a study titled "Jesus Revealed: The I AM Statement in the Gospel of John" on March 6. The class will meet in room 209, and the book cost is $10. Join as we explore and experience the profound truth at the heart of the "I AM" statements: that Jesus is light and life, and He calls us to Himself and offers us the hope of the resurrection.

Camp Hawkins Construction Trip

A group will be doing construction work at Camp Hawkins in Mt. Airy, Georgia, on March 7-9. Projects include removing old toilets and installing new handicap toilets, deep cleaning of the kitchen, cleaning dorm areas, and assembling a new grill. The group will depart Tabernacle on Thursday, March 7 at 8:30 AM, and return on Saturday, March 9. Lodging and linens will be provided at the camp at no charge. Participants are asked to bring personal items, tools, and a great attitude. To volunteer, please contact Chuck Griffith at (678) 410-5302.

Camp Hawkins Volunteers Needed

Camp Hawkins is a five-day camp for children ages 8-21 with special needs. We will be sending a group to help at Camp Hawkins from July 2-7. Volunteers are needed to assist in Bible study, sports & recreation, cooking, and laundry. If you would like to volunteer, please call or text Brad Smith at (770) 314-8972.

Save the Date!

This year, Holy Week begins with Palm Sunday on March 24. We will have a special time of worship with The Lord's Supper and led by our choir and orchestra on Maundy Thursday, March 28 at 6:30 PM. Then, we will celebrate the resurrection of Christ on Easter Sunday, March 31. Don't miss these special times of worship!
