Fraud Alert: A Message from Anaheim Public Utilities
A
naheim Public Utilities customers have recently been experiencing a number of
fraud calls and visits. Individuals pose as city utility employees threatening to abruptly disconnect water and electric services if immediate payment is not made using a prepaid card.
Anaheim representatives will
never make unsolicited calls to customers asking for payment information over the phone, nor will staff visit businesses or homes to solicit payment. Here are some fraud prevention tips to keep you, family members, and friends from becoming a victim. Please share this information:
- Protect your personal information
- Shred bills before throwing them away
- Pay over the phone using only the authorized number on your bill
- Verify all notices before making immediate payment
