PRAYING IN THE HOLY SPIRIT

Romans 8:26 (NKJV) says, “Likewise the [Holy] Spirit also helps in our weaknesses. For we do not know what we should pray for as we ought, but the Spirit Himself makes intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered. [understood.]”
We may think that we know best how to pray, especially when it is for ourselves. However, we do not see ourselves or particular situations the same way as God sees them. Only He knows what is best. That is why we go to prayer in tongues and let God the Holy Spirit intercede on our behalf.
Jude 20 addresses this matter. It says (NKJV) “But you, beloved, building yourselves up on your most holy faith, praying in the Holy Spirit.” That means as you pray in other tongues [unknown languages] from the Holy Spirit, you are being built up and strengthened in ways that would not have happened any other way. This is because only God, the Holy Spirit, knows best how you need to pray for yourself.
Your words are very powerful when spoken, regardless of whether you speak in tongues or in a language you understand. Words (prayers) that are spoken with your own understanding are powerful. However, we often do not know what we need in the same way that God knows what we need. Therefore, as we pray in the Spirit (other tongues), the words that Holy Spirit give through our mouth are likewise very powerful and effective. This is true even if our natural mind may not understand what “we” spoke in tongues.
Also, there are times when our travail (prayer) is so deep (gut rending) that we can only utter groanings. Yet, this is from the Holy Spirit also, and God understands the meaning of these groanings. He understands them as well as if they were spoken words. I believe those groanings, infrequent as they may be, carry even deeper passion or meanings beyond the words spoken in tongues.
The point of these scriptures is that we really need to pray often and allow other tongues (unlearned languages) to flow out during our prayer time. This is one way that Jesus, through the Holy Spirit determines how to make intercession for us.
It is also important in interceding in tongues for other people or unknown situations.
Pray in the Holy Spirit [unknown tongues] often when you pray. It “builds us up” and strengthens us.

Proverbs 18:21 says “Death and life are in the power of the tongue: and they that love it shall eat the fruit thereof.” That is a strong statement.
If we considered every word that we speak that they will either bring life or death, do you think we would be more careful with words? God created everything by speaking it into existence. Since we are created in His image, that same creative ability is in us.
So, what are we creating? Are we creating life? By speaking the promises of God, we create life into our spirit, soul, and body. By speaking life over ourselves and others, we become what we say.
In Joshua 1:8 it says: “This book of the law (the word of God) shall not depart out of thy mouth, but thou shalt meditate therein day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein: for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good success.”
What we meditate or think upon continually is what will come out of our mouth. If we meditate on the Word of God, then we will speak what the Word says, because we are “full” of the word. Life comes through the Word of God being spoken. If we meditate on hatred and bitterness, then that is what is going to come out of our mouths and bring death to ourselves and others. When we fill ourselves up with media that breeds fear and listen to television or the internet that breeds hatred, then we become consumed with it. We become what we think on. God instructs us to think on good things in Philippians.
Think of it like this. Words go into the atmosphere and stay there. They produce fruit just like seeds. The only way we can stop negative death filled words is to repent and speak life.
We must train our tongue. James says it is a little member, but it controls the ship like a rudder. If we train it to speak life, we get life. Or if we don’t train it, it will speak death.
What if every word you said about yourself, and others, literally comes to pass? Would you be more careful what you speak? Would you be creating life or death? Those spoken words, like seeds bring forth fruit. We are eating the fruit today that we have spoken the last week, the last month, and the last many years.
Psalms 141:3 says, “Set a watch, (guard) O LORD, before my mouth; keep the door of my lips.” When we allow God to do this, we will get a check in our spirit if we are about to speak words that do not bring life. Psalms 34:13 says, “Keep thy tongue from evil, and thy lips from speaking guile.” God gives us the choice to speak the right words. He will convict us when we speak death. We learn from our mistakes how powerful words are. Ask God if there are words that you have been speaking that you need to repent of.

PROPHETIC WORD AND VISION
This morning as I was praying, I had a vision. I saw a gavel in the hand of a judge come down and pronounced a guilty sentence in a courtroom. I then heard the words, “you have been weighed in the balances and have been found wanting.”
Those same words come from the book of Daniel chapter 5:27b where Daniel was brought in to interpret the handwriting on the wall. In this portion of scripture, the king had used God’s sacred vessels to drink wine from and party with. During that partying scene, handwriting appeared on the wall. It was the last warning from God to King Belshazzar. There was no turning back. He was judged, found guilty, and died that night.
I truly believe that God has sent prophet after prophet warning our country and the world that we needed to repent. Instead of doing this, church has been going on as usual. The praise teams still sing, and many pulpits are caught up in politics instead of preaching the word to feed the sheep. They have not been listening. Instead of running to the altar they are running for a pleasant word from a prophet.
Now, there are some pockets of revival and repentance, but the majority of the church is in an apostate state. Those that preach righteousness and judgment are shunned and ridiculed. They have been called “judgmental” and have been told they show lack of love.
So, what do I see with this vision and word? I see the hammer of justice falling first upon those lukewarm churches that are just social clubs, for judgment starts in the house of God. Then, I see that hammer falling on each of us that are lukewarm in our walk with God. He has warned us, but many have not listened and continued in their “private sin.” No more, says the Lord, will it be tolerated. You are either for God or against.
We see a very hard season ahead, separating the remnant from those that are not sold out to God. Many will suffer great hardship for their stand for Christ. There will be martyrs and there will be those that lose everything. The time of prophesying that God is going to prosper you is over. The time to repent is here.
The Lord would say: Oh, that my people would hear my voice and repent. How I long to see their hearts turn toward me and away from the things that are strongholds in their lives. Oh, that they would see with spiritual eyes what is ahead. Oh, that they would have listened and prepared, but they have been weighed in the balance and have been found lacking.
Like an earthly father disciplines his children to bring correction, our heavenly Father is doing the same. Some will yield to the discipline while others will rebel. Those that do not receive correction will see their end as the branch on the vine that did not bear fruit. It is worthless and dead. It will be cut off and cast into the fire.
As for the remnant, this is your hour to rise and shine for Jesus no matter what the cost may be.

The good news is that it’s time for you to prepare for change. In this change you’ll see those turbulent winds that have been blowing against you are taking a turn; And now they are peaceful winds gently blowing in your direction. Yes, those strong destructive winds shifted during the night; And those same winds that were in front of you…Trying to stop you from walking into your destined place have taken a turn in your favor. Indeed for they are now behind you pushing you onwards, upwards and forwards; Directly into the path of God’s plan and purpose for your life. So get yourself ready for in this unexpected turnaround things will start working for you…And no longer will they constantly work against you. Oh, yes for soon you’ll notice how softly but regularly these new winds of change are blowing; And how gently God’s Spirit is now flowing. Yes, the time has come for you to lift up your head that’s been bowing down so low; And start rejoicing as you get ready to go. It won’t be long before you’ll see the wind that once blew against you and taking you down…Has now turned as it brings you on up to higher ground…And to places where many open doors for you abound. It’s there that it will cause the situations and the people who once brought you so much pain; To suddenly begin to bring back to you such a noticeable gain. Now have a blessed day for that turbulence has changed into your greatest turnaround; As it brings you on into higher ground.

Thought For Today
My heart was full and ablaze with His Love for me. And as I meditated on this feeling, I heard a different sound. It was the Father speaking.
Don’t question My Love and My purposes I have for you. I wrote My words in the Bible. They are living and powerful. They do not die. But if you do not listen to My words, you will surely die. My words will go on living. All you have to do is surrender your life to My Son. He lived and died to bring My people back to Me. I am your biggest fan but My words will not continue to cover you if you continue to reject My Love for you. Choose this day who you will serve. Time is running out. I have waited patiently but I grow weary for you have not repented and turned from your sin. I am a loving and forgiving God but no one has turned back to Me. Look up because I am coming soon. When I come I will divide My people from those of this world. Choose today. Receive My Son and know that as you do, every sin is blotted out. Your sin is ever before Me but I am a forgiving God. Repent, confess your sin and receive My forgiveness.
