THE FIVEFOLD MINISTRY

The giftings of the fivefold ministry (Apostle, Prophet, Evangelist, Pastor, Teacher) should have one purpose, and that is the teaching and equipping of the saints until we come into unity.

We pray that this newsletter and its contents that we share will help you on your daily journey with Christ, causing you to grow in the ways of the Lord.

If our ministry has blessed you please consider supporting us with your giving. Thank you!

A PURPOSE

After Jesus’ resurrection, He showed himself to the apostles twice as they hid themselves behind closed doors. He breathed upon them and told them to receive the Holy Spirit. Even so, he gave them no specific direction as to what they should be doing thereafter.

With no given purpose, they resorted to what was familiar to them. Seven of them went fishing at their old fishing grounds on the Sea of Galilee. (John 21:1-2.)

Jesus then showed himself a third time while they were fishing. (John 21:3-17.) He spoke to them from the shore. They had not caught any fish. He told them to cast their nets again, which they did, and they caught 153 fish. As they brought the fish to shore, they discovered that Jesus had already prepared fish and bread for them.

While they were still in the boat, only John recognized it was Jesus. Once on land, they all became aware who He was, but apparently not by his physical appearance which had been marred from the crucifixion. They knew Him in Spirit. He told them in verse 12, “Come and dine.”

After sharing the meal, Jesus asked Peter if he loved Him. Jesus told Peter to feed His sheep. As the other six witnessed the conversation, they seemed to realize that this instruction was for all of them. Jesus chose peter to be the lead apostle, but they were all to help feed the Master’s sheep.

Now they had a purpose. In the coming days leading to Pentecost, Jesus would expand that commission. He told them they were to go forth to all the lands and spread the gospel and feed His sheep.

That commission still applies to us today, not just to the apostles. Let us all do our part to build the kingdom of God (of Christ).

BUILDING A BRIDGE

Several years ago, I had a vision. I saw heaven at one end of the sky and earth at the other end. Between the two places I saw a bridge, in the shape of a cross. The Lord spoke to me and told me that the cross was the bridge that took people from a worldly life to eternal life.

Jesus is that bridge because he is the only way to the father. The bridge leads to the door, which is also Jesus. In John 10:9 it says, “I am the door, by me if any man enter in, he shall be saved, and shall go in and out, and find pasture.”

We cannot get to the door without going across the bridge of the cross. We must realize that the cross is where our savior bore our sin so we could be redeemed. The cross is the way of death, but the door is the way to life.

We are called to be light and that light guides people to the bridge. Without our light, people remain in the darkness of sin. When we bring people to the bridge, then pray for their salvation, they cross the bridge and the door opens so they can go in.

We must be bridge builders, my friends, to show people the way to that door.

APOSTLE PAT MURRAY

PROPHETIC EXHORTATION

1-8-2024

We’ve heard it said; Unforgiveness is like choosing to stay trapped in a jail cell of bitterness…While serving time for someone else’s crime. Just know that any form of UNFORGIVENESS will end up producing bitterness within you; And that same unforgiveness that imprisoned you in the past will follow you; As it prohibits you from enjoying living in your present and in your future. However, on the other hand, FORGIVENESS will open the door; And let its prisoners go free. Yes, forgiveness will set you free from your past; And as soon as you truly FORGIVE, you are FREE. Oh, but you should know that UNFORGIVENESS will throw out the welcome mat; As it invites the devil and his helpers to come on in. Yes, IF you have unresolved bitterness and an unforgiving spirit…Then you have automatically given place to the devil. Lest we forget Mark 11:25 tells us all that we must, “Forgive anything you may have against anyone, so that your Father in heaven will forgive you of the wrongs you have done." Now thats pretty clear; If we do not forgive others, God will not forgive us…And IF we’re not right with others, then we are not right with God. So do yourself a favor and determine in your heart NOT to go any further into this New Year; Trying to carry the excessive baggage of hurt, pain, disappointment, bitterness and unforgiveness. Just know that it will continue to weigh you down; And it’s NOT worth what it will cost you.
