TSC recognizes bus drivers with perfect atten dance The TSC salutes 27 bus drivers who had perfect attendance during the 2017-18 school year. Each driver received a jacket and $1,000 bonus. The TSC employs 102 regular drivers and six outside subs who perform about 350 routes transporting more than 10,600 students each day. Thank you for your dedication to getting students to and from school safely!

K londike teachers unveil unusual canvas for inspirational messages Many schools have encouraging messages in the hallways and classrooms. Klondike Elementary has added them to an unexpected location — the restrooms. Art teacher Kelli Waggoner says the staff came together and chose several uplifting, affirming quotes. Some picked up a paint brush and created the messages on the stall doors, while others used colorful sticker decals. Read more . 

Klondike office dedicated Friends, family, retirees and others gathered August 25 for the dedication of the Klondike Elementary School office in honor of former principal Cecil L. Helmerick. Clarks Hill School first hired Helmerick in August 1958 where he taught for four years before being named its principal. In 1966, the TSC named Helmerick as the principal of Klondike Elementary School. He remained principal until his retirement in 1988. Read more .

Google Drive File Stream Google Drive File Stream is a new feature now available to TSC staff using a PC that's been upgraded to Windows 10. Google Drive File Stream allows users to access and manage Google Drive files directly from their desktop. All files are visible and can be accessed on demand without consuming all of your computer's storage space. Although the file management features are limited compared to the Google Drive on the web, Drive File Stream may be useful for those who frequently work with files from non web-based software programs (Office, Adobe, etc.).  To utilize Drive File Stream, select the Drive icon from the taskbar icon tray.  Once signed in, you'll see Google Drive File Stream in your file explorer alongside your other drives (H, T, etc.). All folders/files will be accessible on demand and will by synchronized to Google Drive on your other devices (and web version), so long as you're connected to the internet. INSPIRATION MATTERS With Kathy Nimmer

In a recent class of graduates from Guiding Eyes for the Blind, I noticed that a number of the dogs in the class were named for either workers at the school or individuals in the community. The naming of guide dogs is fascinating to me in general. Databases of potential names are used by the individuals who oversee the breeding program, and each litter uses one letter in a rotating alphabetical pattern. However, specific naming in honor of someone is quite special. It stands as a legacy or tribute to celebrate and thank someone for making a difference. What a fun brain break to picture a pile of pups bearing names of people who have touched someone's life! This underlines how limitless the opportunities are to express public gratitude, something I think we all could be reminded of every day.
