SOCIAL EMOTIONAL WELL-BEING
Kindness takes Courage.
Choosing what is helpful, right, and kind even when it could be hard or scary is what truly defines a courageous person.
| |
|
Choose to lift others up, not because you have to, but because you can! Showing kindness is an opportunity for you to begin a ripple effect with those around you. Your uplifting words of encouragement, a gentle smile, helping hand, sincere compliment, or reassurance can carry far beyond yourself. Your act of kindness will carry through to the next person, who then has the opportunity to pass that love onto someone else.
In a world where you can be anything, choose to be kind!
| |
Friday, February 17th is Random Acts of Kindness Day!
What are some ways to show kindness to others?
- open a door for someone
- write a thank you note to a teacher
- call a relative
- say "hello" to someone passing by
- help with chores
- pick up something someone else has dropped
- make someone laugh
- leave an extra tip
- give a sincere compliment to someone
- SMILE
- offer someone a word of encouragement
- be patient
- offer to carry something for someone
- hold your tongue (if it isn't a nice thing to say, don't say it)
- try not to complain
- show respect to your classroom, teachers, and family

MAKE A POSITIVE, LASTING IMPACT IN YOUR COMMUNITY.
Tangipahoa Parish School System is calling on all Tangi businesses to join our mission of having every child in our parish read on level by the third grade. Currently, only 46.1% of the students in our parish are considered on-level for literacy. Each day, TPSS strives to increase that number.
As a Partner in Literacy, you have the opportunity to provide resources, support, and encouragement to the students in our parish, making a difference in their lives.
If you are a business owner in Tangipahoa Parish and are interested in becoming a Partner in Literacy, fill out the form below and a team member will contact you soon.

Jonathan Wong and his business, Cate Street Seafood Station, are supporting our students by joining the #TPSSPartnersInLiteracy initiative. He plans to add a library of children's books to the restaurant so that guests can practice reading, listening, and communicating while dining!
This program provides parents/guardians with the skills they need to navigate the ever-changing digital landscape. The Redhead Method will challenge you to think critically about how and why we use social media.
Over the course of three sessions (two virtual, one in-person) we will discuss how to:
- facilitate healthy conversations about social media
- understand why/how relationships with technology greatly differ between age groups
- understand the concept of a #DigitalReputation
- achieve a more comprehensive understanding of the social media landscape and how
- accounts are seen/tracked
Heads up! Several sensitive topics will be discussed during these sessions. *These sessions are for adults only.*
Our final session is coming up!
