Propane companies must adhere to labeling regulations for inlet and outlet connections on containers and delivery vehicles to avoid violations from the Railroad Commission.

NFPA 58 §5.9.8.5 requires the inlet and outlet connections on ASME containers with a water capacity of more than 2,000 gallons to be labeled to designate whether they communicate with the container's vapor or liquid space.

- The labels may be either on the container or on the container service valve.

A violation occurs when the required labels are absent, illegible, or incorrect. Compliance with this standard is critical to ensure that service and installation personnel connect piping to the appropriate container connection. Piping connected to the wrong connection could damage equipment or result in an accident.

Similarly, 49 CFR §178.337-9(c) of the Hazmat Materials Regulations mandates that propane delivery vehicles' inlets and outlets be marked as “liquid” or “vapor.”

The Railroad Commission actively inspects for compliance with these labeling requirements. Failure to label appropriately can result in citations and penalties.

Both the Texas Clean School Bus Program (TCSB) and the TERP Rebate Grants Program have suspended accepting applications due to reaching their funding limits.

Texas Clean School Bus Program:

• Applications closed early due to exceeding available funds ($13.5 million).
• Originally scheduled to close on October 14, 2024.

TERP Rebate Grants Program:

• Applications closed on July 18, 2024, after receiving enough applications to use all allocated funds ($92 million).
• Originally set to close on August 28, 2024.
