Dear Neighbor,
Another
PG&E Public Safety Power Shutoff
is scheduled to occur later today, affecting parts of Berkeley. The latest information we have from PG&E is that the
power shutoff will begin in Alameda County around 5 p.m. this evening
. Please note that this is an earlier start time from the most recent previous update. The outage is expected to last into Mon., Oct. 28th, with power shut off for 48 hours (however no official end time has been announced by PG&E). The start time and duration may change with little to no notice, depending on weather conditions.
Are You Impacted By the Planned Power Shutoff?
Please use the PG&E
address look-up tool
to check if your specific address is affected. You can also view the map below to see if your address is in the affected shaded area, although all addresses shown in the shaded area may not be impacted. Similar to last time, the Berkeley hills are expected to lose power.
If you believe you may have trouble evacuating in an emergency and you are in a high fire danger area expected to lose power, please make plans to leave as soon as possible.
Those who plan to stay in the shutoff area should be prepared with enough food and water for the outage to last up to five days (through Wed., Oct. 30th).
