MESSAGE FROM TMS PRESIDENT AND CEO:

SHARON MERCHANT

In the spirit of Women's History Month, I'm thrilled to acknowledge and celebrate the extraordinary women recognized by two esteemed organizations in Palm Beach County. The Woman of the Year Award nominees, selected by the Executive Women of Palm Beach County, represent diverse industries and showcase outstanding leadership. Simultaneously, the Women's Chamber of Commerce of Palm Beach County's Giraffe Award nominees exemplify dynamic contributions and positive change. These remarkable women embody resilience and innovation, making their mark on our community. As we honor their achievements, let us draw inspiration from their stories and continue championing the advancement of women in every sphere.

CLIENT SPOTLIGHT - TOWN OF HIGHLAND BEACH

It is our pleasure to work with residents and municipal leaders in the Town of Highland Beach to help them successfully present their views on a county issue of great importance. TMS worked with them to research and develop statistics on important issues, coached them on how to best present their views, recommended a Town resolution, and developed and distributed an invitation, social media posts, and press releases. We attended the public meeting to take meeting notes and helped to pass out comment cards for those wishing to speak and stickers to residents to indicate their position on the issue. We continue to work with the Town to help share their views with the Board of County Commissioners. Currently, we are meeting with each County Commissioner to convey the wishes of the residents and Town officials, and are optimistic for a positive outcome.

The Town of Highland Beach is in southeastern Palm Beach County, bounded by Delray and Boca Raton. It encompasses 1.1 total square miles. The Town's "main street" is a beautiful tree-lined stretch of State Road A1A. Highland Beach has a year-round population of 4,150 which increases to approximately 8,500 during the winter months

ANIMAL SPOTLIGHT

ANIMAL CARE AND CONTROL (ACC)

Mayor Maria Sachs approached our President, Sharon Merchant for some help in rounding up concerned citizens to help supplement county staff efforts to improve the facility. We are all doing this pro bono and hope to help. The current buildings were constructed in 1992 and need to be upgraded and space added. ACC can use some help with marketing and fundraising and hands-on volunteers to help exercise the dogs.. Too many dogs and cats are being found as strays or surrendered and too few adoptions are taking place. The County has money in place and we are monitoring progress. With the long-awaited upgrades, the property will be more attractive and hopefully, families will consider getting their next furry family member here. There are opportunities for schools to start animal care clubs. If you are interested in knowing more, give us a call at 561-315-9110 or email Sharon at Sharon@themerchantstrategy.com.

CAM'S CORNER

Well, it’s official. Mom says I am the worst car guard dog ever. I can’t scare off panhandlers, because I love everyone. Sally growled. I just smile and wag. But I am a good office security girl. I stretch out and nap in the sunshine by the front door. That seems to work just fine. When my brother Diezel was in town, we played and ran and I wore him out! He is bigger than me, but I win at tug of war because it is tiring for him to drag my body around, and eventually, he gives up. Dad and Diezel are back in South Carolina for a while and I sure miss them! This summer we are taking a big trip in Dad’s camper and I can’t wait to smell the smells everywhere!

I NEED YOUR HELP... MY FRIENDS NEED A HOME!

I need a special favor from our friends. Please read the part about my friend Harlem from Palm Beach Animal Care and Control. That is where Mom got me and Harlem needs a home, too. Mom is trying to help Mayor Sachs and the other Commissioners to make the place bigger and better so more dogs and cats find forever homes.

Thank you!

Your pal,

Cam
