MESSAGE FROM TMS PRESIDENT AND CEO:
SHARON MERCHANT

Black History Month is a time to honor and recognize the achievements, contributions, and rich history of African Americans who have shaped and continue to shape our society. It is an opportunity for all of us to appreciate what makes us stronger as a community and society.
February also brings attention to Heart Health Awareness. Heart health is a crucial aspect of our overall well-being. Did you know that laughter has proven cardiovascular benefits? A good laugh can improve blood flow and increase the function of blood vessels, contributing to a healthier heart. Let us take this opportunity to reflect on the importance of camaraderie, recognize the achievements of the past, and commit to building a healthier future for ourselves and our community.

Recently, Sammie had the privilege of attending a Law Enforcement panel discussion hosted by the Leadership Palm Beach County's Focus Committee. The event featured Palm Beach County Sheriff Ric Bradshaw, State Attorney Dave Aronberg, Circuit Court Judge Bradley Harper, Chief Assistant Public Defender Dan Eisinger, and Moderator Attorney Dana Herst. This provided a unique opportunity for Sammie to gain a deeper understanding of the challenges and initiatives within law enforcement, fostering a connection with key influencers in Palm Beach County.

COMMUNITY ACTION NEEDED...
PLEASE HELP TERRANCE FLOYD

On Sunday, January 14, 2024, at approximately 5:17 am, on the Northbound Turnpike just south of the Glades Road exit in Boca Raton, a hit-and-run driver took the life of Terrance Floyd. Terrance was an incredibly special individual, devoting his life to helping others, and mentoring children as both a coach and teacher. His loss is felt by all who knew and loved him and TMS is sharing this information in the hopes that someone may have seen something or may know something. There is an active investigation open with FHP. Please share this to get the word out and if anyone knows anything, please contact Palm Beach Crime Stoppers at 1-800-273-8477, submit a tip through TCWatch.org, or contact FHP directly by dialing *FHP(*347) and advising the dispatch team of the information. The Traffic Homicide Investigator is Corporal Margaret Furtado and can be reached at margaretfurtado@flhsmv.gov. Terrence was a personal friend of Cheryl Scott’s and we thank you in advance for your help.

MEET THE NEW TMS CHIEF OF SECURITY

My job as a personal bodyguard for my Mom is never done. I also protect everyone at work and at home. My style is sort of like Buck’s… I lay by the door, sunbathe, and try to look big. That is the best place to see everyone who comes and goes and I get my best licks in there. My car-guarding style is to stick my head out the window and let my jowls and ears flap in the wind. Mom thinks this is funny, and says I look like the flying nun, but I think I look scary. I rode halfway to South Carolina jowls flapping! Next time I see my Aunt Colleen, I will get to meet Bufford our South Carolina canine security dog. Their house is new and Mom said they didn’t need wrestling on the new floors. I finally got to meet my Aunt Cheryl – she thinks I am pretty and amazing! Her dog Tiffin, our Marion County canine security dog, did not appreciate my fabulous smell on his mother! Together, we could guard the planet… well maybe a small city.
As Sally used to say, that’s all for now.
