Rising rates of measles, mpox (formerly known as monkeypox), and meningococcus make this a good time to send a reminder about the importance of point-of-entry symptom screening and, when positive, travel screening. In addition, avian flu is widespread in birds in Massachusetts, and a human case has been identified in Texas.
