Important Clinical Guidance on Measles, Mpox and Maningococcus
Submitted by Shira Doron, MD, Chief Infection Control Officer, Tufts Medicine; Hospital Epidemiologist, Tufts Medical Center; and Professor of Medicine, Tufts University School of Medicine

A message for all non-Tufts Medicine hospital-affiliated practices

Rising rates of measles, mpox (formerly known as monkeypox), and meningococcus make this a good time to send a reminder about the importance of point-of-entry symptom screening and, when positive, travel screening. In addition, avian flu is widespread in birds in Massachusetts, and a human case has been identified in Texas.
