Administrator's Corner

Parents, just a reminder that the designated drop off lanes and upper parking lot have been getting clogged in the mornings.
Please note that when dropping off your student(s) in the upper drop-off area, we cannot have you lingering for long periods and as it backs up the lane. It is a designated lane so we ask that you keep it moving by "hugging and going." Please follow this protocol for the upper parking lot as well. Thank you for your support in getting students to school quickly and on time.

Click here to see the map of the drop-off lanes in question.

School Emergency Plan
Please make note of this important information!
Parents/guardians and students, in the event that there is a school emergency and we need to designate a reunification spot for parents and students that is within walking distance
we will meet up at the Hebrew Alliance at 3600 South Ivanhoe, Denver CO, or at Temple Sinai at 3509 South Glencoe, Denver CO. If we need to evacuate off site and it is not a site within walking distance, Denver Public Schools Safety and Security will inform parents where the pickup location for students will be.

TJ Rolls Through the Fall Semester
TJ students receive recognition for their outstanding academic achievements.
Thomas Jefferson High School held an academic achievement assembly on Thursday, January 21st to recognize the 446 Spartans who received a 3.0 GPA or higher in the Fall 2015 semester. The assembly also recognized students who earned Academic Letters and athletes who made First Team All-State. Spartans were able to double the number of students on academic Honor Roll this year, and Assistant Principal Mike Christoff commented, "This year there were over 40% of the students who made honor roll. It's awesome to see our students grow every year and reflect on how far they've come from last year." Read more

Graduation for All Campaign
Some students don't walk across the graduation stage... and not for the reason you think.

They have the grades.
They have the credits.
They may have even been accepted to college already.

Then they get the order form for the cap, gown and graduation announcements, and that's where it stops.

The basic graduation expenses at one Denver high school start at $46 for just the cap and gown. For many of us $46 is what we spend on coffee for the week. Add in announcements and senior pictures, and the cost is a real burden or even impossible for some families.

The Graduation for All Fund helps those for whom the graduation ceremony is out of reach.

Thanks to your donations, we can make sure that these kids have the same experience as everyone else in their class. Imagine the pride their families will feel when their senior marches across the stage, gets a diploma and a handshake, and takes the next step in their adult life.
