THE FIVEFOLD MINISTRY
The giftings of the fivefold ministry (Apostle, Prophet, Evangelist, Pastor, Teacher) should have one purpose, and that is the teaching and equipping of the saints until we come into unity.

THE CHURCH AT EPHESUS
__________________
Revelation 2:1-7 addresses the spiritual condition of the church at Ephesus in Asia Minor (today’s Turkey). Much good is said about it, but most of us focus on the one and only criticism of it and that is that they had lost their first love. Let us look more closely at this church and its city.
Ephesus was a major commerce center in Roman times. It also featured an elaborate pagan temple to the goddess Diana, or Artemis, who, according to their belief, came down from Jupiter. People came from all over to that temple. Silversmiths made a fortune selling images of Diana.
Paul established the church there during his third missionary journey, which was probably somewhere around 54-59 A.D. There was a great ministry developed in Ephesus that saw many miracles, signs, and wonders. It was so great that people from all over Asia Minor went to Ephesus to hear the gospel. Paul spent three years there. Upon leaving, he appointed Aquila and Priscilla to lead the church. It had perhaps the greatest impact of any church that Paul established.
Now, let us move ahead about forty years to 95-96 A.D. when John wrote the book of Revelation. The church at Ephesus had “cooled off” from its fervor for the gospel, known as their first love. This is a natural human tendency as people become so accustomed to things and become comfortable or complacent resulting in the loss of their first love or zeal for God. This greatly displeased Jesus but his love for them was as strong as ever. Without repentance and revival, Jesus said they would lose their place, i.e., their candlestick would be removed. Their candlestick likely meant their pastoral (or apostolic) leadership.
In spite of this, they still had a lot going on in works for which Jesus praised them. He complemented them on their works, (vs. 2) their labors for the gospel, their intolerance of evil, and their rejection of false apostles. They had patiently over time borne the witness of Jesus’ name without wavering. They also opposed the deeds of a fringe group of Nicolaitans, whom Jesus hated.
This admonition to return to their “first love” still applies today for both the present-day church and also for you and me individually. We must not let time cause us to become too comfortable or lackadaisical in our relationship with the Lord. Let us consciously draw closer to him every day.
No amount of good works, although they are important, can be a substitute for our time spent with God, our first love.

BEING BORN AGAIN
________________
It simply amazes me how many people go to church and have never been taught what it means to be born again. I can attest to this because the church I was brought up in did not ever preach that from the pulpit.
How important is correct teaching? It is a matter of life or death. It can mean the difference between spending eternity with God in heaven or being separated from God in hell.
In the past two weeks I have asked several people, “Have you been born again?” The answers amazed me. They were from, “No, I don’t believe so.” To “I am not worthy enough to be born again.” Some had no clue what it meant at all. After sharing what it meant, each of these individuals invited Christ to be their savior.
A religious leader of the Pharisees came to Jesus at night and said, “…no man can do these miracles that thou doest, except God be with him.” You see, he believed that Jesus was sent from God and was worth listening to. Jesus was not flattered by these words that he said. In John 3:3 Jesus’ reply to him was, “…Verily, verily, I say unto thee, except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of heaven.”
This man was Nicodemus, a ruler of the Jews, but he had no understanding of what Jesus said. He was using his “natural mind” to understand spiritual words. He questioned Jesus how he could go back into his mother’s womb. Jesus responded with, (John 3:10) “…Art thou a master of Israel, and knowest not these things?”
You see, just because you are a leader in a church does not mean that you have any understanding of spiritual things. Jesus went on again with the famous John 3:16 verse with the gospel. God sent the son because he loved the world. Because of this they can be saved.
If you want to understand more about why we need to be born again, go to our website and read this article. It will help you understand.
The question I ask you today is this. Are you born again? You might say, I am okay, but it will not satisfy God. You must be born again to have eternal life with God. I pray that you have done this, and that you will share your testimony with others. Things are going to change very rapidly, and we need to witness now while we can publicly before that right is taken away from us.

PROPHETIC WORD
AS GIVEN TO HELEN SANDERS
Just as the tender sprouts long for the spring rain and are nourished when it comes, so you, too, have been longing for the refreshing that only I can bring. The season has been very dry for you my child, but I have allowed it to draw you closer to me, for in my presence is the spring rain, the summer growth, and the fall harvest. Every season is important for you, which has brought you to where you are today.
For there is a moment in time when I would say come and sit at my feet. As you do that you will feel the fresh spring rain fall upon your dry and weary soul. It is the place where the fallow ground is broken up and you receive the water of life. It is the place where we meet face to face, and you feel my presence. My child, you must surely know that the season of dryness, or winter has passed for you and things will start to break forth in many ways for you. You will see the old gone and the fresh new start of something better than was.
For you have endured when others did not do so. You have pressed through the hard ground when others did not do so. You have been found faithful, and I reward faithfulness. So, let the spring rain fall upon you and enjoy it. You will see that it has been worth the trials that you have gone through to bring you to this place. You will see things grow through the spring and summer, and there is a harvest for you that you have never dreamed of. For, I, the Lord am bringing the spring rain. Believe it, receive it, and conceive it saith the Lord.

PROPHETIC EXHORTATION
5-1-2024
Just know there’ll never be any FIRE on the altar of your life and/or ministry; UNTIL there is MORE than ASHES in your heart and your soul. Now pause and prayerfully think about that…And then get busy stirring up those lingering embers.

Thought For Today
With all that is going on in our country it is important to stay focused on God. Pray continuously and repent often. Surround yourself with worship and read the Word daily. Come into that secret place with Christ to be strengthened and refreshed.
”Have you not known? Have you not heard? The everlasting God, the Lord, The Creator of the ends of the earth, Neither faints nor is weary. His understanding is unsearchable. He gives power to the weak, And to those who have no might He increases strength. Even the youths shall faint and be weary, And the young men shall utterly fall, But those who wait on the Lord Shall renew their strength; They shall mount up with wings like eagles, They shall run and not be weary, They shall walk and not faint.“
Isaiah 40:28-31 NKJV

The Hearts of Men HCC
Where are men’s hearts, and where are they in families?
The husband, the brother, the father, the elder,
He’s the one who leads his family, his church,
In ways to grow. Has he disappeared,
Just sitting there doing nothing? His, at most responsibility,
He’s given up. How will children know the right and wrongs,
Of life without their father’s? He is the heart of the family.
The Dad directs the ways to goodness.
If you look around, a lot of men have turned their backs.
They have run from their responsibilities.
Are they taking their family to church?
You don’t see much of that either.
Get right with your responsibilities of who you are.
Man is the caretaker of humanity!
