Yom HaZikaron

Middle School and High school classes will participate

in a Tekes Yom HaZikaron following davening. Parents are welcome.

6:30 p.m.

Tekes MaAvar

at Young Israel of Oak Park

6:30 p.m. - Mincha

Immediately following Mincha we will have a Yom HaZikaron tekes by our high school students. During this time, we will have babysitting for our younger students.

The transition to Yom HaAtzmaut will begin at 7:15 p.m.

If you are planning to bring your student just for the Yom HaAtzmaut ceremony please make sure to have your students at YIOP no later than 7:10 p.m. so they will be ready to perform.

Babysitting is JUST for Mincha and the Yom HaZikaron part. All students will brought into the social hall for the Yom HaAtzmaut part and we expect that parents will supervise their children for the rest of the evening.

The ceremony will be a presentation of short skits, songs and dances by our students in grades K - 12, showing the power of Am Yisrael. The students will gather at the side of the stage before they go on stage. After each skit, it is expected that the students will sit quietly either at the side of the stage or with their parents for the remainder of the program. Please help us ensure that this happens and supervise your children. The K-2 students will be the first to perform.

Immediately following the presentations we will have Tefillah Chagigit for Ma'ariv in the sanctuary which will be followed by food and refreshments. We expect the food/dancing to begin around 8:45 p.m.

It should be a wonderful evening and a special way to come together and mark Yom HaZikaron and Yom HaAtzmaut.
