May 5, 2011- The deadline for submissions to the Screenwriting 

competition of the RISF Shoot Out has been extended to May 20th! Hurry to submit your short screenplay now! The winner of the screenwriting competition will have their screenplay adapted into a short film over the course of the Roswell International Sci-Fi Film Festival, in a structured, week-long production, sponsored by Famous Monsters of Filmland.

 

The Roswell International Sci-Fi Film Festival is also still open for film submissions! If you are a filmmaker working in the Science Fiction or Fantasy genres, it is not too late to submit your film to be screened at the festival.  RISF will be showcasing the latest and greatest Sci-Fi by independent filmmakers in the city that's been home to some of the most infamous alien landmarks since the 40s-Roswell, New Mexico! Submissions are open for both shorts and features. The RISF festival screenings will be taking place at the Roswell Museum and Art Center in New Mexico.

 

Each entry for the film festival and screenplay Shoot Out are $15.00. You can also register for the Roswell Summer Film Boot-Camp, a 30 day intensive movie-making crash course that includes scriptwriting, casting, shooting, directing, producing, and editing.
